The post I was replying to was saying how our football knowledge on here was so low and it’s obvious kudus is a better player then BJ, however look at our goal scorers so far this season, we are nearly half way through the fixtures and Own goal is still
Our joint 2nd highest scorer, yet we are selling last seasons top goal scorer.
I understand that BJ doesn’t fit Franks system , and he will be more suited to a team like palace who play on the counter , however it’s not just as easy as saying Kudus is better when we aren’t replacing the goals that Brennan scored last season.
Personally I’m waiting to see who we bring in this window before celebrating this transfer , if we sell Brennan and come the end of the season Own goal is still in our top 3
Goals scorers and his replacement Kudus is still on single goals scored then surely TF has to shoulder the blame.

Good post mate and agree.

I'm going to be fcuked off if Johnson goes and scores lots of goals for whoever, whilst we buy players who don't offer too much.

My biggest issue is that there is little suggesting Frank will oversee anything progressive as opposed to percentage football.

It's reckless and in many respects I hope Johnson declines any move.

I would rather see other players leave before any goalscorer, which is also why I'm no longer keen to move Richarlison on.

I mean who scores if we sell both?

And yet, there are only MID or low PL tier clubs in Johnson despite the fact he was our best scorer last season, its winter window and according to some there (not you) price is too low.

While Kudus was regarded by much better clubs in summer window. And i am he would still attract better clubs than BJ - despite his flaws.

Point is - for winger not just goals matter.

They just saw Johnson's name on the score sheet a few times last season and have assumed that he must be good

If you've actually watched him consistently it's pretty clear to see that he is nowhere near the level

Just because we had our pants pulled down by Forest doesn't mean we can expect the same from another club.

We're selling a bench warmer for 35m. It's a great deal.

Yep. Mid table clubs are after him as that is his level. If we aspire to be better than the mid table club we currently are then we need to move a lot of these players on. Also the size of the squad is absurd, if we want to bring in anyone else then others have to go. I bet all bar a handful are available for transfer and for a squad that has been dismal for at least 2 years now thats a good thing.

Yeah my main worry though is who are we bringing in , I’m all for improving the squad
However since last season we have lost Sonny - 11 goals , Kulu - 10 goals , Maddison 12 goals for this season at least - that’s 33 goals.
Hopefully Dom is back fit for the second half of the season and can contribute but as a team we are serious lacking goal scorers so I fully get that for a winger it’s not just goals that matter , but as a collective , goals matter for the team and from either transfers - Sonny , BJ or long term injuries - Maddison , Kulu etc we haven’t even come close to replacing the goals they scored , hopefully we can see this being addressed in the January window!

Selling a 24 year old, 20 goal a season winger feels like madness. Replaced by a guy that scored 3 in 24 games, and is gassed after 60 minutes. It's no surprise his family have asked for a transfer.

He’s had one good goalscoring season in which he scored 11 whole league goals (this is hardly exceptional - lots of rubbish prem players have managed it).

4 of the fuckers 11 goals were against Leicester and Southampton FFS. The way some of you talk about him you’d think he was a limited version of Harry Kane.

If it was ‘madness’ better teams would be in for him. He’s an insanely limited player who has been absolute rubbish when he’s played this season.

Yeah, additions are need desperately. I just hope that by fixing our buildup issues with new players we will be able to generate more chances that even donkey will be able to finish.

With current lack of creativity even Haaland would struggle.
 
Not a player that would ever get close to starting for a title winning club, or even a title challenging one. Certainly suited to start for a mid table club like Palace, Everton, Sunderland, etc.
