Ex-Spurs Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It is best for him and for us that he is sold. He's very limited technically. He is clearly not suitable to play in whatever the hell set up Frank is trying to put in place.

But, he will always have a place in my heart for the scruffy finish in Bilbao. Good luck to him.

On the plus side for him, he is quick and he has a good IQ for being in the right place at the right time to score. He will do very well in a team that uses a set which is aligned to such qualities as he does have.

I’m going to go against the grain here but he wouldn’t have been the first out of the door for me.

The Brazilian cart horse is number 1 but Tel, Odobert, Bissouma take your pick of any of them after that.

But I guess he’s the one we can get vaguely decent money for, the others you’ll have to give them away.

Thank you Brennan.

Goodbye, good luck, hope you have a great world cup in the summer.

I'm not one of those fans who has beaten on our only reliable source of goals. He had a job, he did the job.

Yes there’s bigger issues in this squad than Johnson

Maddison loves Brennan. It’s probably echoed by a fair few players but willing to bet Maddison was the indirect source.

I’m ok with it tbh. If you are ruthless enough to sell the player then it shows you can be ruthless with the decision makers as well. Pressure back on Frank, Lange and the crew.

See who they replace him with I guess.

No point keeping a player we aren’t going to give minutes too though.

Nah, he was just bad at football.

Good luck to him.

Yep, fair point mate.

When you play with finesse as we saw yesterday, there is no place for anyone who can't meet such standards.

We just need to find a Yamal and failing that I hope we spend 70 million pounds on Savinho, who at least can 'play football' and whether he does or doesn't score any goals, and whether he creates a minimal amount, at least we can be content that at least he 'can play' football.

In our progressive,ball-playing, keep ball team, we only have space in the squad for the best.

Maybe Pep should have signed Brennan Johnson and replaced Savinho? Apparently BJ is better and half the cost. Must be a no brainer.

Only he had no interest, because Brennan Johnson isn't good enough.

I understand you are upset at the club, as am I, but come back to reality. Brennan Johnson was not good enough for us unless we are content with bottom half.

$35M is a great outcome.

When I see better being bought I will accept the wider point.

Until such time, I see strikers who are either unfit or who don't score (Richarlison apart,), and wide players who run down blind alleys, far too often.

What a rotten path we are being taken down, so yep for me losing, Johnson without a ready made and objectively better alternative is somewhat inept.

We should be selling every squad player we can get a decent fee on. Because of BJ's goals last season, we were able to get a nice fee.

Outside of VdV, Bergvall, Vuskovic, who is not replaceable for a realistic fee? It's just mediocrity all around.

I've got no idea on all that, because it's based on 2managers who have failed to develop players as best I can see.

The notion we have so many mediocre players, and that so many clubs have far betrer players is just a construct of fiction and overactive minds in my opinion.

The notion that these 2 managers are just that much worse than other managers, and the players are just being held back by the managers, is the same construct of fiction. Neither of us knows and in all likelihood the answer is that both the managers and some of the players are the problems.
