I certainly hope not. The fans are split on Poch returning. He had at his disposal the strongest squad over the past 30 years and won nothing. His football might have been better to watch but I do not want that failure back. Frank might not be the man but Poch certainly is not. I could not watch those press interviews he gave again where he basically talked about leaving. Frank was an attempt to replicate Poch, both were Managers of smaller PL clubs that had done well. We need better.
It just keeps happening with certain posters when Poch is mentioned doesn't it.
He had the "STRONGEST SQUAD" and won nothing? He absolutely did not and it was our main problem throughout his time at Spurs.
The man had us up there consistently with a first 11 only and in the best place we have been as a club for 40 years and some still like to belittle that.
Fucking pisses me off.

I think they're more split on here than in the real world. Pretty much every single fan I know would love him back.

I'm not saying it's a right or wrong appointment from a football pov, but it would bring a great wave of excitement and and anticipation which even those who don't want him back would end up being swept along with.

The media interest would also be huge.

Personally, unless these owners sell up, I think it's inevitable

I would love for Poch to come back and be a huge success but it does seem like it's driven by nostalgia.

Also a massive sympton of the huge mismanagement of this club when we are going full circle, a decade later, with a manager that didn't even win anything.

In terms that they have my backing until the end of this month, but unless they do something, not after.

Was this really that difficult to understand?
Sorry, the way you worded seemed to imply that you had some kind of power and were going to take some kind of action against them if they failed to do what you wanted. But of course you don't have any such power, so I'm 100% certain that they couldn't give two shits about your "backing". The arrogance of our fans is bonkers, there are so many on here who think they are so much more important than they actually are.

It's a forum and people discuss things like this all the time?

"Who do you want to be next Spurs Manager" Don't think any of us have any actual input in the recruitment process

Wouldn't be anything on here if we only discussed things we have control over

Sure, I've no problem with discussing any topics, it's just the strange wording. We can all say who we would like to be the next manager, but if someone started saying "I'll give them until end of Jan to appoint Poch" (or whatever) then I'd be asking "what will you do at end of Jan then?" It might just be how my brain works, I do tend to take words very literally, but that's twice now that this poster seems to have implied that he has some kind of power in this situation - first giving them a deadline, then threatening to end his "backing". If someone says that something had better happen by a certain date or else, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them a bit more about what the 'or else' actually entails. As I suspect the answer is effectively 'absolutely nothing'.

If it's just a strange turn of phrase and what he actually means is "I hope the owners do what they said they would do" then that's fine, he just seemed to be saying something more definitive / impacting.

Well Said 👏 👏

The man worked fucking miracles with his hands tied behind his back, generated a fortune for the football club, and was continuously hamstrung by Levy / ENIC

This pretty much covers his entire tenure here ⬇️

the way our fans at the time supported Levy and shat on Poch is one of the biggest, shameful episodes in this clubs history.

It's why we are where we are today.

Shame on every one of them. They know who they are.

Edit: And if they do sell up I'd LOVE to have him return and get the kind of backing he should of had the first time around.

He's magic, you know
Have you forgotten the massive decline in the last year of his Management, his constant disruptive comments in the press interviews which must have had an effect on the players. His constant disregard for the domestic cups playing very weak teams and getting beat. He had peak Kane who scored more goals than anyone else at the club but not in the F A c up as he hardly played until the latter rounds.
I still recall being in a bar in Cyprus to watch us in the league Cup against the Woolwich, hopeful of knocking them out only to see Poch pick a team of many changes that stood no chance and we were again out of the cup.

No I most certainly do not want him back.

I said He had our strongest squad not the strongest squad. Ange won a cup with a much weaker squad as to Palace last season. He is not a winner.

So it is the fans you attack now is it. Posters have repeatedly said that they did not support Levy only corrected ridiculous criticisms that you and others constantly made. Poch should have won a trophy with that squad and if he was not strong enough to stand up to Levy and play stronger teams in the cups like Ange did then he does not deserve a second chance of failure. If you say that ENIC should do better then we need better than Poch.

You realise you keep posting that badly cropped thing you stole from "The Sun" of all people (Spurs in bottom three and Everton above Liverpool.. the net spend table since 2014-15)

As if anyone actually believes it was a net spent for £8m ffs. Honestly - we need "community notes" every time you touch the keyboard

this is 14/15 until 19/20, where you can pretty much cancel out Eriksen for Berjwin

I completely agree. I think the CL run distracted fans from how bad we were from the February we fell off a cliff, til November when he was sacked. Averaged like 1.2 ppg or something ludicrous.

I also think he underacheived with that group and we could've won stuff, but priority was never given to domestic cups, even the EL was looked down on.

I don't think it'll work, it'll likely end in tears and this place will be horrific. I've always been very opposed to it, especially as his career trajectory has went one way since, but at this stage, almost anything is better than what we're being served up now. And if he does come back, and it works, unreal. If it doesn't, well, we can finally move on Poch, so at least we get closure.

Been saying it (boring you all) for over 5 years that we need to get levy & ENIC out the club or it’s all pointless. A small consolation that so many more have woken up to this fact. I guess it’s pretty undeniable now except to a few of the levy & ENIC lovers remaining.
Throw Woolwich dominating for the next few years….. and we should all get in to cricket or rugby instead!
