Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The absolute folly of literally pushing Johnson out the door, ahead of seeking to secure a replacement, completely outlines the shortsightedness of the current regime.

You must act as though you expect to have injuries and not as though you are immune to misfortune.

It's so damning.

Noticed a few clubs are interested in Parrot, Leeds, Sunderland, and Everton IIRC. Apparently he's scored 9 goals in 11 league matches, and 16 in 22 in all competitions. There's also the 5 goals he scored for Ireland in 2025.

Last season; 2024/25, Parrott scored 20 goals in 47 appearances.

Wouldn't be just like Spurs in 2024 to spend about £60m on Solanke who's gives less in goal return than a player we sold for about £6m the same year.

It's begining to look a lot like the Lewis family are full of shit like many suspected. We needed reinforcements on Jan 1st and yet all we seem to be doing is haggling over an £8m 19yr old Brazilian fullback , who let's face it could be anything.
If they do not act soon in relation to our manager and his style of play, add necessary players to the depleted areas of our squad and try to turn around this catastrophe of a season then it will be time to reignite the Enic protests, as it looks like only one head was cut off and the rest still remain messing things up worse than ever, bunch of shitehawks.

I don't mind us going for any player but act like a big club.

If we want the youngster, fine. Make a serious bid.

But before you start going for youngsters, bring in a couple of players other PL teams think oh right blimey.

Don't change things if you are not going to change things. Incoherent, if the reason for change was that it wasn't working as it might.

We are so shit at the moment...i wouldn’t know where to start , seriously if we bought 5 new players still wouldn't be enough

Nonsense, unless you think the 5 players we brought in were sh!t.

We are being managed poorly, and a big part of the output from the players is the coaching and the messaging.

We are creating an excess of player ineptitude that doesn't exist.

A top quality manager would make us think these were some of the best players out there. I really believe that.

The last 2 incumbents are sorcerers or we are simple-minded as a fanbase.

Our players are far better than we are being fed. Not brilliant but neither are they crap.

Managerial underperformance is being created as a cover for inability to deal with the size of the question..

Early days - I think there have only been about 2 PL signings so far this window that have actually involved money changing hands (Johnson and that West Ham striker).

They do need to pull their finger out and actually make some moves this window, though. The LB and at least one proper signing that improves our first 11 would be the bare minimum. We really need 2 gamechanging signings if we want to do anything this season.

V.rare to do a proper rebuild in Jan unless you're either Man City or scared shitless by relegation, though. And the absolute worst thing we could do is sign players for the sake of it. Provided we spend big in the summer on the right players, I can forgive us not going nuts in Jan.

The summer will be the real acid test. If we don't make some statement signings then we know for sure the Lewis' are cut from the same cloth as Levy and nothing much has changed.

Could not disagree more. Would have snatched Palace’s hand off for £35m. Take the money when you can for players who are not good enough and he sure was one who was not.

You’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you think this summer will be any different.

I don’t really understand where people get this idea from that we’re going to start operating differently? Levy wasn’t the biggest issue when it comes to transfers, granted he didn’t help, but he was never the one with the money, its always been the Lewis family, and they’re still here.

Add to that we somehow having not one but two directors of football, both seemingly as poor as the other. This will be another classic spurs winter window. We might panic at end and overspend on some dross.

Main difference is Uncle Joe being out of the picture. He never gave two fucks about Spurs and let Levy run the show like it was his personal business.

Joe has gone senile and kids are in charge now, so there is at least potential for change and increased investment. Might not happen, but this idea that nothing has changed behind the scenes and it's ENIC as usual is not true. Let's not forget, the kids taking charge is the only reason Levy is out of a job. If it was still Joe calling the shots it would be business as usual under our bald overlord.

Even if their goal is just to fatten us up for a sale (something Levy/Joe never seemed to want) that could mean more initial capital investment in the squad, as frankly we're a pile of shit on the pitch right now and thus a little less appealing/valuable to potential buyers.

I'm fully prepared to be disappointed. I'm a Spurs fan after all. But I do think we're effectively under a form of new ownership, albeit with the same name.

I read there was to be £150m input for transfers, In January.

We need a deep lying playmaker my choice would be Stiller but there are others that have been mentioned that I'd also be fine with. There also should still be enough left for a decent winger and the Brazilian LB, We also have the Johnson money to top it up, and whatever we had for Solomon IDK. If it comes that the club haven't even tried then things are going to get worse at the stadium, outside the stadium and online platforms, especially with these performances, well that's my prediction anyway.

To be fair. Talent wasn't the issue. Was sent away to get away from the bad apples he hung around with to save his career. Happy it's worked out for him though.

Spending £65m on Solanke was a fucking insane decision, I was horrified when it became apparent it wasn't just paper talk. Has to be up there with one of our worst transfers ever. Even at his best, he was no more than an okay option for ~£30m

I reckon if Solanke and Parrot were put up for sale at £20m each, there would be more interest in the latter.
