Of course being able to dispossess the other team is a skill.
Posters moan about players like Gil and Simons not being able to keep possession as if that happens by accident and then give no credit to players who dispossess them.
We beat United all ends up last season because, at the end of the day, not because we weee technically more skilled but because we were better athletically and physically. Seen lots of skilled players (in any number of sports) cave to superior physical players.

Keeping possession isn't the same as keeping the ball Modric never ran around winning tackles but NEVER gave up possession. Think Tony is correct tackling is entry level you must have more.

This is the Brennan Johnson defence. If you think those stats are enough upside for the obvious downside that are significantly contributing to how poor our overall ball progression is....by all means enjoy away suck it up.

BJ stands accused of doing "nothing but scoring"...... I don't believe the same of JP.

We've seen JP legitimately play well on occasion; yet now he is just on the fringes of Frank's team and deployed in rather odd circumstances (such as chasing a goal from a losing position).

He's not a 'tool' for all occasions, but he was decent today (for example).

I'd rather see him at the base of our MF than Bentancur.

I forget who said in England they regard tackling as a skill. It’s not.
Might have been Xabi Alonso, but what would he know..

Just being able to tackle properly shouldn’t be enough to get you a starting spot. If it is a skill it’s basically the lowest level of skill in football. Until he can do other things well, a squad player is all he should be.
But that is his skill set, he tackles, disrupts and gives the ball to someone who can do other things.
Its an important and necessary part of football.
The subs yesterday were spot on, both JP and Oderbert enabled us to get it over the line.

He’s where the ball goes to die

A yellow, multiple miscontrols, doubt he completed a pass.

Absolute DOGSHIT

Players scores goal and people over exaggerate, more to come on this breaking story.

He's pony mate.
See that's the problem all you've seen is the goal scored and not the other stuff. But because he doesn't throw 4 step overs and dribble past 3 players he's pony. The guy can play and is more dependable than any of the other shit we have in the middle atm.

If he has one good game out of 10, he's still not good enough. We had all of the ball, on the front foot, his non ability isn't as glaring when there's no pressure on him when he has the ball. When were against good sides that press, he is a shambles.
