It doesn't seem credible here that people are totally ignoring that 55 of our G+A from last season are from players who aren't available this season (bar a 33 minute Solanke cameo)

What I HAVE done is castigate others for bullying fellow posters simply for supporting the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur - whoever that manager may be.

Always felt bad about it, despite the wheels having come off a bit at the time.
the biggest issue is player empowerment and apathy. they gave frank a look and decided they didn't like him or his football and decided to just mail it in and frank just isn't the kind of person to get them back in line. poch and conte briefly were the only coaches with the personality to whip our players into shape but even they eventually failed because they didn't get the support at the board level to move on or freeze out under performing players and bring in competition for the starters. the fix is a top to bottom reprogramming of the entire club and that likely only comes from a sale to someone else.
in the short run we need someone to bench the players who aren't playing up to standards and when asked why they aren't playing to tell the truth, "they aren't playing because their effort and performance is poor." but we won't see that because we might hurt their feelings or hurt their value in the transfer market or whatever. winning has to be the only goal and barometer and until that happens we'll continue to wander in the desert for another 40 years

Is Frank just terrified of the alternative reality where defenders rush at the player on the ball on these occasions, only for the latter to tear the entire defense apart with a nifty through ball to leave a teammate 1v1 with the keeper? That's the only semi-reasonable explanation that I could come up with.
I get it to some degree; but being this close to the goal well inside the shooting range, the player on the ball becomes the primary threat himself. Besides, like the sequence above, he can still find the exact pass that Frank is trying to prevent with this strategy.

You seem to have an unconquerable faith in any manager and any player we ever have, and your opinion seems constant that it is never those who are paid to produce results on the pitch who are responsible for the results on the pitch.
That managers like Ange are good enough and that players like the current donkeys (minus the two thoroughbreds) are good enough, but all are being hamstrung by a nefarious board room or some sort of ancient curse that's attached itself to our club is bonkers... it's a conspiracy theory.
The squad is built the way it is because of Daniel Levy's skinflintism. Doing a Levy and replacing the manager alone will not change anything, even if he is thumbless

The history in recent times is that the players can bring themselves up for a performance occasionally, against a top club. When they are interested. Most of them can kick a ball, it's their mentality that is at the core of these issues. If a player's mentality is still poor and he's on his second or third manager then it's not the manager
