Player João Palhinha

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Having chilled out a bit. He was passionate and played with some bite. Great to see.

On balance, I’m still not into the idea of buying him permanent.

If we see that level every week and actually win games then I’ll change my mind but not yet.

Nonsense. You’ve just dug in again. As per Ange. He’s one of our best players this season and you’d rather what? Hope we sign someone better? That’s straight out the Daniel Levy “How to Run A football Club” manual.

I don’t see why Paulinha gets the hate. He’s a 100% player every single second he’s on that pitch. He’s not gifted technically but you need types like him. Get quality around him and it works. I thought in the second half yesterday he was immense.

I’m not dug in again.

That performance was like a Poch midfielder with the freedom to go and show some bite and malice.

Palinha will more likely revert back to the mean under Frank in the West Ham game. We will see him controlled and unable to move the ball forward again.

I’m open to Palinha on a permanent but not under this coach and playing philosophy.

What do you mean revert back??? What are you talking about?????

He has 5 goals and 3 assists as well as having the best tackling stats in the league..what more do you actually want??

He's 88% percentile in non penalty goals to midfielders similar to him

77% percentile in assists

73% in non penalty xG

64% in touches attacking penalty area

52% pass completion

That's not even mentioning

99% in tackles
90% in blocks
83% in aerials won
72% clearances

He’s been at the centre of some of the worst football I’ve ever seen in 40+ years of my life as a Spurs fan.

Last night was like watching a different player. I’d sign that player and make him captain. I just don’t think we will see it against West Ham.

Goals and assists are not what he’s here for and looking at his career they won’t last. You can’t sign Palinha to give you goals and assists. He tackles but isn’t the best at interceptions.

I’m open to him on a permanent but the contract would be expensive and we’d be writing off the transfer fee. The ONLY reason to do it is because we know the manager wants to give him the freedom to be the player we saw last night.

Btw Richard Arlison Richard Arlison want to see Archie Gray's stats ??

He is (when compared to other midfielder)
10% percentile in assisted goals
1% expected assisted goals
5% in shots
33% in non penalty goals
1% in shot creating chances
2% in progressive passes
2% in tackles won
27% in aerials won

The only stat he is good at is clearances 97%

He is the epitome of a nothing player yet you've got time critiquing Palhinha whilst defending Archie Gray at every opportunity.

You just can't admit when you've got something wrong can you? You cant bring yourself to it?

So for all the countless stats he excels at you're now choosing to critique his interception stats? Being top tier at numerous other things means nothing to you now.

Fyi his interception stats is at 54% so he's not even bad and the thing you are attempting to nit pick at.

I’m not wrong

I did enjoy his second half performance was really great to watch.

I’m just not basing a decision to sign him permanent on that 45 mins and some goals he’s scored.

If we see that second half for the rest of the season I’ll be happier than anyone to say I’m wrong.
