If we didn’t get them (as is most likely given both their teams are still in pursuit of European honors and the last major Premier League blockbuster transfer was a decade ago), people will say that it was done to gaslight us. If they don’t make an offer for every major player that some keyboard monkey links us with then it’s no ambition.
