Management Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Reckon he’s in trouble with Frank.

Levy could hire and fire with impunity. Vinai can’t because he’s replaceable.

Frank was his first big call and it’s been a disaster. If he asks the board for money to sack Frank and hire a new coach, his position under the Lewis family will be almost untenable. He’s holding onto Frank for dear life.
Wait, I read it was Levy that hired Frank. He was a senior to the gooner wasn't he?

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who has been heavily involved in the process of picking the new manager, has finally landed his preferred target and has issued his first official statement on the appointment of the Dane.
Levy has expressed his belief in Thomas Frank, noting that he believes the 51-year-old is the right man for the Spurs job and that he is the one who can take this team forward.

He said (Tottenham Hotspur): “Whenever you have a new coach, it’s always a fresh start. They always have different ideas. But we want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season. The thing that really stood out to me with Thomas – clearly highly intelligent, a great communicator, super human being, plus all the other technical aspects that are important. They really stood out to me, those three requirements.”

Vinai Venkatesham added: “We ran a really thorough process, at speed. We defined 10 characteristics that we think are important to be a successful manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

“We analysed in real detail, through our technical staff, led by Johan Lange, more than 30 candidates. We had a shortlist – we spent a lot of time with the shortlist – and Thomas Frank was absolutely the number one candidate. We could not be more excited to have him join the club.

“I agree with everything Daniel said about his characteristics. Personally, one of the things I am most excited about is that he is an outstanding developer of young players, so I really look forward to seeing what he can do with the squad we have here.”

I mean it's pretty clear, you don't even have to read between the lines, that Lange was instrumental in Frank being hired.

He would have shortlisted candidates and then made his recommendation, which was obviously Frank.

Levy and Vinai would have then essentially said yay or nay based on their interviews with him. Levy and Vinai would have acted almost as a HR panel in this process.

Does he fit what we want to lead the club? Human side of him? His characteristics etc? Comunications style? How he deals with the media? Man management etc? And on all of those, Frank is not a good fit now we know that, but I can see at the time why Levy and Vinai would have said ok to hire him.

What is more concerning to me, is why Lange suggested him. Because Levy and Vinai would not have hired him based on his technical football abilities, they would have relied on Lange for that.

Lange needs to be fucking sacked.

Tottenham source reveals all on Thomas Frank sack as Venkatesham sent major warning

11 January 2026

Tottenham Hotspur’s hierarchy are split on the future of Thomas Frank, but the club remain determined not to make a change this season, a well-placed source has told us.

Spurs CEO Vinai Venkatesham believed he landed the right man in the summer when luring Frank across London from Brentford, following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou.

However, we are now told by sources that Venkatesham was warned by some members of Spurs’ hierarchy that Frank was not a good fit in terms of his system and the Tottenham players.

The source, who spoke to us on the guarantee he would not be named, told us: “Vinai feels Thomas is such a great fit for Spurs in so many ways. A great person, character, who is well-liked, but he was warned that the system would not be a fit.

“There is a real concern in the club, up high, that this is how things are playing out. The players like Thomas, but do they believe in what he is asking? That is the worry.”

Now, with Spurs sitting in 14th and with just one win in their last seven games, including an FA Cup exit to Aston Villa on Saturday, pressure is mounting.

Spurs are ready to invest this month and want Frank to succeed, and insist they do not want to make a mid-season change. But forthcoming games against West Ham and Borussia Dortmund are huge for the manager.

Our existing players should not be dictating our managerial choices. If the players don't fit the managers style of play we should sell and buy ones that do.

Instead we get manager after manager and expect them to force square pegs into round holes.

And Lange knows Frank from being involved with the same club in Denmark.

I said a while ago, there could be all sorts happening at board level we just arent seeing yet

Which isnt a bad thing, its better if leaks dont come out from our board!

So, out of nowhere, bang - Frank sacked, bang - New manager lined up... Decisive action....

Wouldnt that be nice?

Easy to think though, at this point, it is actually the chaotic mess we think it is from the outside.

I still maintain Vinai can palm this off on Levy. "It was Levys decision to hire Frank, Lange. I have stuck with it as long as I can in the belief we can turn it around, however it is with great sadness/reluctance I feel the need to make a change... thanks to frank yada yada... "

And some point later
"After taking on board fan feedback, we are appointing X as dof, Y as coach with a remit to be proper Spurs..."

Its right there for him to have a free pass on the current clusterfuck and a second chance to build relationship with the fans (he wont get another)

It is completely obvious we need gutting and refitting at board level

I dont care if Vinai is there, I dont care if the Lewis' stay in ownership - so long as they put proper football people in position and let them do their job.

We are crying out for it

Hadn’t Vinai only been in the building a week?

Don’t want to be seen to defending the gooner but he’ll just be the latest ENIC patsy won’t he?

Its an interesting "coincidence" that Munn and Ange, both Australian arrived at the club around the same time.

And now Lange, who are both Danish have now played a significant part in hiring Frank, and its not to say that its due to their nationality, but we shouldnt simply hire a manager due to connections.

These sort of approaches in management can reduce quality and standards.

It also follows on from Levy giving his brother-in-law a job at the club. Player Liaison Officer.
