Glad we protected our investment with the new contract.

Palhinha will return on loan, Bissouma will exit, and our CM options will then be:

CAM - Maddison, Xavi
CM - Gallagher, Bergvall, Sarr, Gray
CDM - Bentancur
Yeah that's about right. Basically sums up why the Gallagher deal (and our squad building) is a bit odd in terms of profile, especially considering even Bentancur is better as an 8 than a 6.

Desperately need to buy a passing 6 in the summer, maybe even 2. And this deal means we probably need to sell at least 2 of our 8s (including Bentancur). At least Gallagher is a monster off-the-ball, which means we'd probably get away with having a 6 who isn't quite so defensively minded. Another real positive of Gallagher is he's an instant upgrade on Bentancur in general and hopefully frees us up to sell him in the summer.

Ideally I'd like to see:

CAM - Maddison, Xavi
CM - Gallagher, Bergvall, Gray
CDM - 2 x New Signings

Sell Bentancur, Biss and Sarr.

If we keep Gray, Sarr AND Bergvall they're just gonna cannabalise one another's minutes and no-one will develop. Sarr's a promising player but I think it would be a sensible time to cash in. Can probably get about 30-35m for him.

He signed a need contract after he left...

People need to stop protecting this new regime by deflecting back to Levy, they're even worse!

New regime has hardly begun. Takes a few years to properly judge their actions as boards actions are measured mostly over time. Throwing out all plans agreed isn’t always the wisest move anyway. If the club are a shambles in the summer when they actually have time and space to make calls then I think they deserve more criticism. The word transition always gets mentioned with us but this is actually a transition. I used to give Levy a lot of leeway back in the day on transfers before the post stadium mess, will give them at least a summers grace to see what they are upto. Right now this is still Levy’s club for good and for bad, next few years it will become something else.

Levy didnt give Bentancur a new contract

There will be no problem selling him in the summer for 15-20M.

He is probably done here and generally done in England due to his current body limitations, but in Italy we will easilly find a buyer for him.

I’ll be surprised and disappointed if Bentancur is here next season. I just can’t see it. He’s getting old, he’s injury prone and he’s shit.

We’ll have to wait and see though because who knows what this club is thinking.

But it really does make sense to sell him in the summer. He’ll have four years left, he’s 29 in June, turning 30 at the end of next season.

Maybe the idea is to keep him one more year as a squad player. But he might want to take the opportunity to leave for more regular football.

What I do know is we need a much better partner for Gallagher next season. Not this guy.

surely the grass is thick enough, if it felt any different other teams would of moaned by now.

the injuries are more likely to do with the fact that for 2 years they were forced to play caveman football.

I find it odd that the retractable pitch has not been investigated as one of the factors in the disproportionate injuries Spurs players have incurred in recent seasons.

The pitch was the world's first of it's type so any potential issues, regarding the safety of the playing surface, are an unknown quantity at present.

Some artificial and plastic pitches were historically known to increase the risk of injury. This was due to the layers beneath the playing surface.

Opposition players only play on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pitch once a season.

Some Spurs players play on it for 19 league games and the other cup fixtures too.

If there was an issue with the playing surface then presumably the more you play on it; the greater your risk of injury.

That new deal is just more and more mental.

He was poor and on his way out id have understood like a 2 year one just so he didn't leave for free, but 5 years on a player who isn't upto the level after serious injuries and who's now picked up another one is crazy
