Said it in the other thread but this makes Frank the most backed manager we've ever had. High wage, high transfer fee players in their mid to late 20's.
How do you come up with this shit?

Frank has been here not even 2 windows. The permanent transfers in are Simons, Kudus, Tel, and Gallagher. Danso and Vuskovic were already decided before Frank was here. Then 2 loan players who are ok. Simons is unproven and done little. Tel is the most complained about transfer we’ve had in years, though I like him. Kudus is an average winger.

Most backed ever? Exaggerating the fuck out of everything as usual

When have we ever signed as many high wage, peak age players in such a short space of time. We raised the wage structure this summer so we could get Simons and afford Palinha or Muani's wages. We gave Romero mega money to stay...Gallagher will be on 200k pw as well.

Levy signed 1, max 2 peak age players on big wages. Other than that youngsters and prospects.

Hold your horses.

We're still a million miles behind Arse, Pool, City, United, Chelsea...even Newcastle and/or Villa if I remember the slide from Cleary's video on Frank correctly.

Also, I reckon Bayern and PSG still pay a substantial chunk of Pally & Muani's wages.

Yeah, there's been progress. But it's nowhere near enough and it's a decade too late.

I guess your definition of backed is very different than mine. None of these players are anything special or better than players our competition is signing.

And backing a manager means getting players better than the competition, not paying high wages for mediocrity because top players don’t want to come here. The Simons signing was not backing a manager… the first 2 choices failed and we got stuck with the most unproven one.

I don’t see these signings as backing Frank at all. We’ve been playing the entire season with a RB at LB. They are forced into buying these players because the squad is so poor and most of the young punts have failed.

I’m just talking wages and risk.

There’s way more risk in high wage players with less sell on value because their age.

We’ve taken more risk with Frank than before.

Might just because no Levy but I’m still saying Frank is the first one to really get this kind of backing

On crap footballers.

There’s no way we’ve given Conor “plodding” Gallagher 200 grand a week btw. Even we aren’t that stupid. He’s not worth half that.

That’s fair about the wages but I don’t have the same definition of backing.

Sorry for jumping on you, I didn’t know you had some actual thought behind it.

Who are you to determine what a player is worth, and that's only said on the basis that is any player worth such a salary?

As for Gallagher being plodding, why not wait and see or are you just laying the turf for the next player you dislike.

I just cannot fathom how a headless chicken manager in Frank is still in charge.

Shameful in truth.

The odd glimpse of something half decent is completely secondary to the standard dross he has presided over thus far.

The Wire Wow GIF

Frank has to go in the summer regardless. Hes just not the right fit. Quality and stature size. Paratici was right saying he wasn't right man. When we appointed him I was underwhelmed tbh. Two crap managers in a row now for different reasons.
