Doesn’t matter about Guehi, Pep clearly trains his defenders as much as Frank coaches our attack so I’m still hoping for our usual 6 points.

(FWIW - yet another glory-seeking mercenary not wanting to put in the proper hard yards to help a team out).

If he had wanted to help Palace, he could have done a contract to increase his sell-on value.

Oh, well.

Roughing it out another half a season isn't a big ask as he's under contract. But it's happened, City get a great player for nothing. Not even a year ago we had a £70m bid rejected. What could've been, eh?

Its all lined up at the perfect time for guehi. They have injuries to CB's so he will play, gets a massive bump in pay and can challenge for major trophies and he gets CL football.

They're putting him on nearly £300k a week, almost certainly due to the fact they're getting a £70m player for £20m, Palace dragged their heels on accepting a reasonable fee for him in windows gone by and knew they were playing with fire holding on to a player who wouldn't extend, can't really hold it against Guehi for looking after his own interests when the club had ample opportunity to sell him, a real mercenary would have kicked off and threatened not to play if they didn't sell him to Pool at the end of the summer window but he just cracked on with it.

Still a good fee for palace with only 6 months of his contract left.
