Player Mikey Moore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It was a home match where they played the 2nd bottom team with 10 men for 86 minutes.
Good on him for making the most of it, but it's not really relatable to the English PL.

He should be standing out in those circumstances to be honest. He’s definitely getting better though and looks confident now. If Rangers went on and won the league he’d already have a winning mentality by 19 years old with a European trophy and league under his belt. Not many can say that.

I work with a Rangers season ticket holder who in his younger days used to play for Scotland at U20 level, so he knows decent players when he sees them. He's in love with Moore and wants him starting every game for them. Understands the standard is lower up there than the PL obvs but Moore sticks out with his usage of the ball and way he finds space.

Its a great loan for him IMO

It’s been the perfect loan so far. The turmoil that he’s witnessed and came through at Rangers will be character building and to come out flourishing on the other side will have a great effect on his career. He sounds very grounded and confident in his interviews too. Being at Rangers has made him grow up quickly and that can only benefit us whenever he comes back into our squad.

I don't really watch the SPL, what sort of levels of physicality do they play with up there? Do the bottom teams have the same fitness and strength levels as the 2 or 3 top teams?

Pretty much mate. The difference in quality has dropped with Rangers and Celtic in the last two seasons but they are still miles in front of most teams. Those two have both been so poor this season but will still finish first and second. Hearts played Celtic the other week and physically dominated them but what will kill them is they will not handle the pressure of those two getting closer to them in the league. None of the Hearts players have been in a title challenge like this and that’s where they’ll fail.

I’m a Rangers season ticket holder - all the best, have always enjoyed watching your better sides over the years.

Wanted to share a close up perspective on young Mikey at Rangers. Put simply, most of us absolutely love him up here.

We’re all aware of the quality difference in the league, but it’s not an easy environment for a young player at the best of times, never mind this season and our terrible start. The Ibrox crowd isn’t patient and is very demanding, we’ve seen top players before struggle, not even just loan deals. For example, Diallo at Utd didn’t hit the heights and there are countless examples of experienced players struggling in this environment when on paper they should have found the league easy. The technical quality isn’t high but every team plays against Rangers like it’s a cup final, there are 50k fans on your back the minute you make a mistake, you are expected to win every single time you play, and it’s fast paced and physical. In most cases, the players that do well here are the ones with enough mental fortitude to back up their ability.

That’s what’s been so impressive about Mikey. He’s come through probably the worst manager in our history in Russell Martin (shiver), and had a few on his back early doors, and at only 18 has still come through it. He never crumbled. He always wants the ball and wants to make things happen. He always accepts responsibility. I’ve seen bigger names than an 18 year old kid hide in our stadium and he doesn’t ever. He’s even been calling himself out in interviews for not having enough numbers despite being one of our best attacking players (if not our best already), that shows great maturity and attitude .

Then you look at his brilliant ability. For me, he excels centrally when he is given space to drive at players and feed with a well weighted pass. He’s been used out wide at times through needs must but his numbers will improve when he gets a run centrally. Also, we’ve invested in January and although it was only kilmarnock last night, with likes of Skov Olsen from Bundesliga you also saw a glimpse of how he would excel with better players around him.

I would bite your hand off to keep him another year, and I actually think its probably a good move for all parties, and under a good coach in Danny Rohl and in a better team I think he’ll develop even more. Especially if we win the league and he gets a chance of Champions League football. He also seems to love it here, I think he thrives with the responsibility of a bigger club and don't think he'd enjoy playing at a higher standard if its not a team that's expected to win every week.

He’s a cracking player, outstanding young talent and it’s a pleasure to have him. I think you’ve got something special there and he’s made a big impression up here in the small time he’s been here, and it’s rare for an 18 year old to make that impression.

Walking from the stadium last night and they were singing his song on the street. I hope it continues and he kicks on and has a great career, I'll be supporting him anyway

Ffs why does he have to have another on loan! We keep and buy players worse than him and give them minutes. Why not develop MM instead. Isn’t that what vinai said Frank was going to do, develop our academy prospects. Other teams throw in their youngsters even goons playing a 16 yr old in the PL. we should be brave and show some faith in our boys. No on can tell me some of the players we have bought for huge fees are better than what we already have just they never given a chance. And we have fan base who always say need another yr on loan blah blah blah. Then within that yr we will go out and buy another bloody youngster who will get first team minutes. Our boys go further down pecking order.
on the flip side.... worked for Kane

I'd love it if Hearts won, but I'm with you, they will most likely crack.

I think it's a physical league alright, though it's not as fast as the PL. I'd say it's somewhere between Champo and League One. Rangers and Celtic are like good Champ clubs. The rest, League One, even League Two. Physical, but slower than PL.

Great to see him doing well.

If he continues at this level, what do we think Rangers would pay us for him at the end of the season?

Motherwell are the best footballing side in the league to be fair to them. Celtic might go for their manager in the summer.
It’s difficult to say where Celtic and Rangers are in comparison to England. We played Rangers last year and gave us a tough time but that doesn’t tell a real story of what they are. Both gigantic clubs but play in a sub standard league.

Ange got the selection completely wrong vs Rangers. Needed physicality (e.g. kulu coming on). And we were awful. I would say both teams at their best on neutral turf, we would murder them.
