No chance we bring in a manager full time when Poch is free in the summer. Whether or not he's the "right" manager is irrelevant to ENIC because he is probably the only person who can take the heat off of them and begin to repair the relationship between the club and fans.

Do we have the luxury to wait for Poch though? We need to start thinking incredibly short term.

Not to mention that even appointing Poch in the summer will logistically be a late one. He won't be able to leave the US job until they are out of the world cup so mid July at the earliest. And then he has a right for 3 weeks or so of vacation per the Fifpro CBA or the coach equivalent. So he wouldn't be in the job until August most likely.

I'd like to have him back but this summer is just bad from a logistics perspective.

Correct. I’d go for De Zerbi just now till the summer if he wanted it and take it from there. Aggressive football and pressing. Short term,keep us up and get us climbing the league and give him it full time.

Or go get Xavi
 
Poch would be a huge mistake.

It's hard to believe people have forgotten the last 18 months with him.

Awful, turgid, stubborn and stale.

People just want to sing his song.

It's probably has to be poch based on the way we operate.

Announce him, have him consult or whatever
But for now I'd get in some people connected with the club , Defoe, Sherwood, hoddle I don't know really.

if they do the permanent thing now, they have some unbelievable options on the market

Surely, you take your shot at Alonso before Slot is sacked. It has to be worth a shot. Let him choose the next DOF if that helps
 
I think de Zerbi leaving Marseille 'out of the blue' last night tells its' own story... I think the club have sounded him out for a Temporary role, he's said yes, and we've pushed the button.

de Zerbi in til the end of the season, then it's all about the Poch Juggernaut! :pochsmirk:

Has to be Poch.

With his current role, he can advise and consult from a distance until World Cup. He can start having the discussions around Summer transfer window.

Interim. Plenty of options. The key is it isn’t Frank.
