Realistically I think Xavi Hernandez is our best available option. Proven winner.
He absolutely didn't, which is incredible really, they loved him and would run through walls for him to the very end, and yet they remained so disastrously shit, just how bad was the rest of his coaching ability to achieve that???
A lot of people in here claimed he did, given the league form.
I thought it was a bit more nuanced than that as he definitely had his eye on one prize. But ultimatley he wasn't good enough.

Totally relevant to a PL relegation battle.
The chances that we absolutely fluke a CL win are not zero, and as we regularly see on here, people are heavily attached to the idea that a cup winning manager is redeemed.
The board need to really figure out if they are waiting for someone in the summer, or willing to take a chance that we appoint someone now (be it a De Zerbi, OGS, whoever) who might turn out to be amazing in the last 14+ games, and:
- we keep them, but they "di matteo" and miss out on the right long term manager.
- we let them go, and the next guy ends up being awful and the 'interim' we let go is one we beat ourselves up about forever
Well he does leave the club in 16th place, so that's measurable improvement right there...
