If that pair of dweebs linger on then whatever happens next will just be the same shit with a different coat of paint.

There really isn't a single person in a position of power at this club that I would trust to make a footballing decision, so despite the removal of this utter turnip as manager, I'm still not overly positive about the immediate future.

Got to get rid of this pair and at least get in someone with half a clue and a bit of swagger though.
100%

If Frank was the symptoms these two numb skulls are the disease.

I give the new guy two games before people are calling for his head.

Whoever he is.

There won't be a new manager bounce as we've timed this to coincide with the best team in the land coming to our ground next game. We couldn't even get that right.

This club deserves relegation, we are run as badly as Watford. Watford with money.

No accountability for anyone in the board for constantly picking the wrong person.

6 managers in 7 years and counting.

Feel sorry for whoever the new bloke is already.
You can get fucked with this kind of shit, Stoke City on roids might be top of the League but don't revere them in this manner.

They're awful, they're just quite proficient at that awfulness.

But yes, regards to the main point, they've wasted a bunch of reasonable fixtures for a new manager to pick up some steam and now whoever the lucky fella is will be lumbered with a tough set of fixtures. Typical Spurs really, there should be a word for that...

Depends.

He might see this as his opportunity to land a cushy PL gig. If we stay up, Poch is going to come in.

I don’t think managers are as picky as we think. They look at it as a paying job and take opportunities as and when they appear.

Managers are egos

They need to believe they are the main man, the beating heart, and everything goes through them

De Zerbi is a big ego even by these standards, he is never taking a short term job like this, he'll sit out until someone offers him a big deal

It works for the like of Carrick, lower level managers putting themselves in the shop window, not the like of De Zerbi

I cheered in a Teams call. It is now in the minutes

"Thomas Frank sacked! thank fuuuuuuuck! Cheering and other noises"
I got a text and stopped the people in the call while I read it.
Then did this

Didn't look half as good, mind.

The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.

Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.

However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.

Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.

Thats it. The best they can say is he worked hard. We know he worked hard, he kept telling us 😄

Why no comment about what a great guy he was round the lunch table, how all the layers were going well or how aligned they were on his leaving?
Truly he was, the Emerson Royal of Head Coaches...

The whole league is awful, been saying it all season, and yes they are a Spicy Stoke but lets not pretend they aren't the best team in it. Thats just insulting everyones intelligence.

As it stands the only thing that is stopping them is their own arses twitching. Which is what we are all praying for.

I'm just saying that this is the worst game to pick to try and get a new manager bounce.

Man Utd would have been a good pick, last night would have been a good pick. But we choose the team who are utterly consistent.

Like everything at this club we always manage to make the wrong decision and the timing is always shit.

I'm all for De Zerbi.

I just think Mason is too much of a risk with relegation looming. Mason makes sense if we were midtable, or if we sacked Frank two months ago, but now, we need some experience in the dugout.

Trix

I heard at the weekend that he had to get a result last night or it was game over. Also that they were looking at Mason coming back as interim/to work with Heitinga with the view he'd slot in with Poch seamlessly in the Summer. It would give MP a direct contact on the coaching team now, to know what was going on with the squad and also provide some continuity for the players. He is also familiar with MP's philosophy and coaching style so that could be initiated now.

Now that was just one of the ways they were looking at possibly going but it was the one that had the most traction and made the most sense to me at least.

It had to happen - but lets not delude ourselves that Frank was the only issue. We have neen enduring a perfect storm of :
Chronic underinvestment in the playing staff - over a significant period.
Crippling injuries - involving long term injuries to key players
Highly questionable tecruitment - value for money notable by its absence
Lack of form on the part of key players
Disjunction between the fans and the players
Lack of leaders through the team - ie willing to sweat blood for the shirt and able to take charge on tje field
Abject failure to nurture home grown talent.
A frankly bizarre transfer window in the face of overwheming need to bring in more bodies

Just my opinion - but if Im right - its going to take a long time to fix - even more so if we drop.

Always love how these reports remain hidden all year and then come out the moment the manager is sacked. "Actually, he had lost them months ago!"
Only Spurs could win a European trophy, sack the guy who got it, then hire someone hopelessly unsuited before sacking him after less than a season.
Ignoring how we would have been in this spot last year had all of the promoted clubs not been historically bad.
