I don't know anything mate.
I have watched Marseille a couple of times because I have a morbid interest in whether Mason Greenwood has turned his life around.
I didn't see anything that suggested a tactical genius was at work, but at the same time they were definitely less of a shambles than we have been under Frank.
Lange would never cope with him. He is somewhat bonkers.

De Zerbi is a nutter and way too emotionally volatile for a relegation battle. He’s like Ange 2.0 in that he’ll try to prove a point with tactical choices and deliberately get pumped 3-0 attempting to show that his tactics are the best.

He is not a good fit for us right now. He is an innovator but when the margins are this thin it’s too much of a risk, and that’s before we get to how volatile he is as a person.

There is everything to be gained

A new manager takes over now, keeps us up - they get a head start on next season

They get 13 league games (+CL) to effectively bootcamp the team in their way of playing

THEN they get to hit the summer knowing full well who needs to stay, who needs to go, and what we need to buy

THEN they get to hit preseason with a running start
I think this too. But a) they have to be the right guy and b) Vinai et al are going to need one hell of a pitch to attract the very best. Or £8m a year!

They'll get Poch in, you'll sing his song and excuse all his stubborn bullshit in exchange for feelz.

And it will be business, and mediocrity, as usual.

It's just too easy for ENIC.

If I was them -- intending to continue in the exactly the same vein -- it's the appointment I'd make.
In the summer, sure, but zero chance Poch walks out of the US job months before a home WC. He'd quite literally have Trump calling for his head.

Everyone will lap this up and applaud it but I’m telling you, this isn’t the Pochettino we had a decade ago. His Chelsea tenure was awful, saved only by a 10 match purple patch where they played teams with nothing to play for and Thiago Silva basically doing on-pitch tactical instruction. Go watch the 0-4 to Woolwich in April 2024, I’m telling you he hasn’t got it.

Has been shocking with the US as well.

If and when he fails here… we will have no more last resorts left. It will break the club to see Poch ruin his reputation here.
