Probably Heitinga gets to finish out the season then then they'll bring back Ponch this summer so the fans can get that out of their system. If they don't get a handle on the root cause of the injuries and fix the general dysfunction that pervades the team (including getting rid of a good number of players) it won't matter who they bring in.

This from Wikipeidia on De Zerbi leaving Brighton

De Zerbi's public discontent surrounding Brighton's recruitment strategy was cited as having contributed towards the "irreconcilable differences", which had formed between him and the club's hierarchy

It has to be a caretaker for one simple reason

Imagine we get a new full time manager, first match the Goonies who will be looking to crush us. If it's 4 or 5 nil to them, the new manager is under serious pressure, then he goes to Fulham, what if he loses that? Then on to a 6 pointer with Palace. Lose all three and let's be honest, we would want a new manager again.
This is what I've been saying. We have to give any new permanent manager some foundations, not the same broken squad, battling relegation, with angry fans who will boo after 4 more games without a win (which is very likely with our fixture list). If the results continue as before, he won't stand a chance, and we'll be relegated anyway. Unless the next permanent manager is Poch, he won't be given any time.

Save the baptism of fire for an interim, and do the homework required for a new permanent manager in the summer, then back him in the transfer market.

My money is on De Zerbi.
He’s got a style, he’s as good as we’re gonna get, and if Spurs wait until after the World Cup we’ll be facing Watford on our opening day and there’s no way Poch or anyone else coming off a WC team join us for that.
So basically, a different flavour of Frank, Ange, Nuno etc? Nothing on his CV to suggest any kind of upgrade, just change for the sake of change.

(Insert Name Here) Out!

I can't see having to wait on Spurs to pick a manager before we can start demanding they be fired. When is the next away match so the traveling supporters can start on some new chants?

Can Poch spare a trusted assistant to send over to Tottenham as interim, until the summer?

If the plan was Heitinga until the end of the season. Wouldn't you just announce that or brief it immediately after the sacking? He's already in the club..

Wonder if they're kicking some tyres, seeing if theres something permanent they can do over the week before they commit to putting Heitinga in place as interim.
