It’s what West Ham did and they seem to be in th ascendancy now.

Kompany got Burnley relegated and has Bayern being Bayern.

Dyche for 12 games could be a shrewd move, he would target the winnable home games and get us the 10 points we likely need. It would be very dour, but it’s 12 games and then we can roll on with Poch in the summer
Sean Dyche? What happened to this beautiful club? The complete opposite of the Tottenham Way...

Bet he goes for Frank

BBC say hes opened talks with Vitor Pereira

4 managers in a season - they deserve to go down to be honest

We’re apparently in talks with him now and I would suggest we’ve probably been in talks with him for a while.

I don’t think him leaving Marseille last night was a coincidence. Also he would be able to bring in his staff with him which solves an issue for us to replace Franks staff. An interim option wouldn’t be able to do that for us.

Says who? Ive seen reports to the contrary but its not always obvious which are utter BS or not...

The clubs biggest problem with new coach is setting the priorities. If Spurs bring in a temporary coach until the end of the season; they will have 1 personal goal - do well in the Champions Leage. This puts them in the shop window.

Keeping Spurs up? If it's a temporary appointment, with no club affiliation - outside of a bonus, I'm not sure why they would really care where Spurs are next season.

No elite coach is coming in for a relegation scrap, unless they are given assurances that they will be in charge next season. With Frank gone, all of the existing staff will also see the writing on the wall that they will be gone come summer, with a new coach bringing his own people.

Left it too late, this should all have been done in early December.

Ryan Mason? Tim Sherwood?

I always thought Mason did an underrated job of teeing up Postecogulou

He got us back into a forward thinking shape, playing a bit more freely, and generally shook off the Conte/Stelini football ready for a manager who wanted to be more progressive

I think there is room for an interim to be really useful, if youve no choice but to go for one

Prof on COYS. Also POK so that’s two decent sources. Also Ben Jacobs said we were talking to him. I think there’s definitely something going on.

I think it’s a perm we go for him. If we go down an interim route I think that will be a risky decision and could be a costly mistake.

100% perm if its him, no chance he'll go interim at all

If that's the case, then I hope he doesn't have a melt down and act like a prick again... Can we just a have a normal manager that knows how to manage the team just playing in the right positions, positive attack football, without the insanity Ange.

And a defence that has some kind of noodle on how to defend.

It's not a difficult ask.

100% he will 😄

Someone on here called him Temu Conte and I think thats right on

Short term he'll sort the team out, fans will be onside, he'll be calling people cunts and we'll like it because we agree...

Long term form will start to fall apart, he'll start calling everyone cunts and we wont like it because we dont agree and all will implode...

On X theyre saying supposedly Russell Martin has shown interest in the gig.
My local Tesco on X said exactly the same about Russell Martin

But they went for a student who would only work part time instead

Was watching a video on YouTube yesterday discussing the Spurs shit show and one part really stood out to me.
"Since Levy left, "who actually does what at Tottenham?"
"Who was it, that woke up this morning and made the decision to sack Thomas Frank?"
"Who now has to decide who the next man is?"

It's actually quite terrifying.

Its Vinai, he's the new Levy for all intents and purposes.

And through all the articles etc I read yesterday, it was a line on Vinai that bothered me more than any about Frank.

Something along the lines of "He is really respected in the game, but its known to work by consensus and doesnt like making decisions himself"

And that REALLY rang true

De Zerbi would be just another in a line of 'nothing special, no track record' mediocre and uninspiring appointments. And since that's what we now specialise in, and he's available, he must be nailed on for the job.
I wouldn't say hes uninspiring hes a decent manager got Brighton in Europe. Won Trophies in Ukraine got Marseille back in champions league and probably would of done again.

He basically does what hes paid to do.

but doesn't manage up well and a bit of a nutter

My Geordie mate recons Eddie Howe is burnt out and looking to take a year off - thinks De Zerbi or Jose is heading there in the summer.
Mourinho is the fan choice up there. I think it's nailed on next season. The owners want a big name to make a statement.

I'd wager anybody we won't be hiring De Zerbi. If it's not Poch it'll be another meek and mild yes man. Someone who sees us as a step up and who's just grateful to take a job at a higher profile club.

Someone who can consolidate us a a steady mid table club so the ownership can continue milking the venue without the drama of the last couple of seasons.

agree with most of it
but i dont get the Heitinga thing why him
also i dont mean to be a dick i just dont know where the Heitinga thing comes from and what he has done as a mangaer?

I think the thing with Heitinga is this:
- He was assistant at title winning Liverpool
- Theyve fallen apart (relatively) since he left
- Reports Slot not happy he went and players loved him
- Came here and we showed signs of liking football
- Isnt part of the Frank crew
- Has that Ajax heritage, so one assumes likes decent football....

I lot of its more correlation than causation, but we're desperate here...

De Zerbi is actually just a shit Ange, in that he doesn’t even have Ange’s charisma or ability to connect with players.

If you had told me this is where we’d be in June, I’d have begged you to keep Ange. And I say this as someone who truly despised Postecoglou towards the end.

His game model is way too volatile with our squad as is. We will ship chances in bunches as we learn his “principles”. Even a well played RDZ match gives up a good counter or two, and that’s before we get into his shocking OOP/pressing approach.

I disagree, actually - I think he's a better Ange.

He doesnt have the same charisma as Ange, definitely more of a "He's a cunt, but he's OUR cunt" kind of vibe. But I think its well reported his players love him (at first)

I also think his football is a LOT better. Yes, it has superficial similarities, bait the press exploit the space etc, but its MUCH more controlled and properly coached.

So less volatile, as its more predictable (to the players) - and its certainly the sort of football our squad is more geared toward

The best football under Frank was when we got a bit volatile/chaotic and raised the tempo - its what this lot are happier with

I have very few concerns about de Zerbi in the short term. Its just the whole time he was here we'd be waiting for the melt down

Agree. Board ain't hiring anyone they think will stand up to them and be a 'pain in the arse'.
so no xavi or conte
