Ive been listening to "The Managers" podcast, Pulis and McCarthy talking to other managers about their history. I realise its another generation, but what they have to say? No real insight at all, its all shallow and superficial.

De Zerbi is an odd one. A prick and an oddball but with some talent. Would be either a total disaster and get us relegated or do really well and move us out of danger quite quickly but don’t know which.

at the risk of getting the piss taken out of me, he does fit the brief of a motivator who most of the players love and will attack. Just tell him to fuck off the CL and focus on PL this time around. If its a 3 month gig it might work. Although he'll have no wingers for the back post tap ins
To me, it's gotta be Poch. We have to scratch the itch, sure going back to the ex never works but it's probably a mistake we have to make. And far more importantly, this is a club in pain. He's the only thing that will be able to unite the fanbase and have any semblance of feel good factor around the place again. The more worrying thing is who do appoint to keep us up as interim. Regardless, I believe they should look to get the deal for Poch sorted ASAP, and work with the USA to announce that he'll be joining us at the end of the WC, that's a win for everyone and saves him getting peppered with questions about it during their World Cup.
Poch also would continue our incredibly dumb pattern in the last 15 years of making 'overcorrecting' managerial appointments, where the last manager's flaws are what we look for as strengths, rather than working with what we had.
AVB: Too counteract Redknapp maybe being slightly old school, we go for the trendy new kid on the block, data driven and all that
Sherwood: To counteract AVB being difficult to watch and not playing academy players we go for the youth team coach who will give players more freedom and weed out some of the personalities.
Poch: Probably still counteracting AVB here, we go for the guy who is friendly with players, free flowing attacking football and wants to play youth
Jose: To counteract Poch's perceived lack of ability to break the glass ceiling and win something, we go for the proven winner Jose Mourinho
Nuno: To counteract the massive personality of Jose, we go for someone from a smaller club who will just be happy to be there
Conte: To counteract Nuno's lack of gravitas and clear lack of gameplan, we go for another proven winner in Conte, who is regimented in style and the way he wants to play
Ange: To counteract Conte's negative football and abrasive personality, we go for someone who plays attacking football and comes across as likeable in the media (even if some disagreed with this at the end)
Frank: To counteract Ange's overly offensive style, we appoint a more pragmatic coach who will decrease expectations rather than talk boldly about the club
Poch: To counteract Frank's clear disconnect with club values and negative style of play, we'll get in somebody who clearly LOVES Tottenham and also plays good football

It’s just reflecting on his comments, every word of which are true. It’s not a call for his return.

He was sussed out at PL level quite quickly. The majority of teams learned how to defend against his attacks and how to exploit his defence.
