I am assuming Prof from COYS is referring to Keane based on Matt Laws piece

Prof:

If the original plan was to limp to the end of the season with TF and then hire Poch, and if right now the managerial candidate they believe is most likely to keep us in the PL wants a multi-year deal, the THFC hierarchy would have an unenviable decision to make. Risk v reward. That would make these days a pivotal time for VL, VV, the board .... and the short- and medium-term future of THFC. In that scenario all we (as fans) could do would be pray that whether by good luck or by good judgment they make the best decision.

Nope. Prof is referring to De Zerbi. He is the manager who wants a multi year deal who we believe is the best person to save us from relegation.

The alternative is an interim, I am sure we thought of Keane for that role but he's leaked via Matt Law that he would only join on a perm deal, so that isn't going to happen.

This is why we are in a fucked position. Do we risk an interim so that we can get Poch in the summer, but then we risk relegation if the interim doesn't work out?

For me it has to be De Zerbi now.

Could be anyone, I mean, whats he saying?

Ideally want Poch in the summer, but might need to get someone permanent now and pass on Poch

and these same folks, dying, praying, wishing for new owners to come buy us - what do they expect are gonna happen - how long since newcastle were bought - they just sold isak and replaced him with a nodbody - their team is hardly full of superstars, their squad depth is shite, they make poor decisions constantly -
Newcastle have a fraction of our revenue and are hamstrung by PSR restrictions.
We have no such FFP issues and annual revenues that dwarfs there's.

With respect, that's a very stupid, dumbass example to go with, my friend.

Seems pretty obvious they will appoint RDZ before the weekend

They are just figuring out how to communicate out to fans who clearly want Poch in the summer and RDZ kills that

For me, it’s not logical to wait for Poch if it means risking relegation on an interim they don’t trust.

Don't envision them sacking Lange just yet but they certainly need to hire a footballing man he reports to like a Ralf rangnick.
Think that's just as vital. Lange is as out of his depth as Frank was

If they get RDZ in then I bet you they still have their eye on Poch in the summer because that's been the likely plan all along and they've shown they don't like to deviate from plans no matter how shitty the circumstances

The question becomes is Poch good enough to gamble on an interim and possibly be relegated? And the answer is obviously no. He's not at the level of Pep, Klopp, or Ancelotti. Putting muh vibes aside, he hasn't done anything since leaving us to risk relegation to appoint him.

De Zerbi, Xavi, and Xabi Alonso should be the top three choices. Appoint one of them on a 2.5 or 3.5 year deal and give them the keys to overhaul the squad in the summer.

Hire RDZ long term then pay him off for Poch?

Would be utter madness. Other than the emotional pull, I’m really not convinced either way which of the 2 gets better results.

RDZ usually only stays in a job 2 years, maybe they go back to a Poch after?
