Maybe its a semantics thing, but I still think we are saying the same thing ultimately

For me, manager = responsible for the team

That might mean they lead training, it might mean they tell the coaches what they want the players to implement - details may vary

So they are the most important, its their thing, they run it - its what they make it

Biggest issue appears to be his support of Greenwood, its a character/values thing

Second biggest issue would be that he is a nut who implodes every 18 months

I think most people actually like his football

As you mention De Zerbi - I think the same applies. If not more so. He is also known to fall out with this board, particularly around recruitment...

Almost as important as getting the manager hire right is getting the DOF right. It'd totally transform the club if we could bring in someone like Rangnick.

Any dimwit could cite some aspects of ENIC's ways and hoghlight an incoherence, but the club do spend money. They just have the wrong people overseeing matters, and keep getting the managerial appointment wrong

He didn't start resting players for Prem matches until April. The "he sacrificed the league" narrative was a post hoc excuse by his supporters to save his job.

Arguably its MORE important, in theory thats the person that sticks around and brings continuity

This is when he lost me. I was on board with the "injuries have taken their toll" line with him all through that first half of the season

After Christmas, when players got back, we performed even worse

He wasnt resting anyone, he was going as strong as he could each game

Arguably he rested VDV and Romero for a couple of knock out games, thats about it
 
Anyone know much about Heitinga's style of play when he was caretaker of Ajax? Seems to have produced fairly good results at the time. Also was assistant at Liverpool when the won things last season.

Assuming he's not more dour reactive football, him till the summer and Poch post WC seems like probably the best choice to me.
