That's the only scenario that I can see grounds for disgruntlement.

Otherwise it seems like he'd never heard of Tottenham Hotspur and ENIC/Daniel Levy before, and took the job like as a lucky dip, and completely oblivious to it's transfer history over the past 25 years.

So are you expecting a manager to go in and work with the dross ENIC are providing them in the transfer window and bring success to the club?

I don't get your point.

The way I see it no manager is going to produce much more than qualifying for Europa with this squad of players and that would only occur if we could keep the bulk of the players fit and suspension free for an entire season which isn't realistic. With the injuries we have and the gaps in the squad this job is next to impossible.

The fan base wants to see the club competing at the top of the table, winning domestic trophies and all while playing the Tottenham way.

Ange can be a bad manager and still be correct about the lack of ambition of ENIC, both things can and are imo true.

Their squad spend is only slightly higher, but generally they have assembled their squad for less than their squad value (highest in the league by a factor of two).

e.g. they are buying under value, or as you put it "chanced upon some exceptional talents at low cost"

Our 'squad depth' issue was Pochettino's own choice to "work with a smaller squad". He didn't have any experience of managing a team in a european competition

Is there anyone high up at the club capable of identifying the right people?

Levy came along with the ENIC takeover, he'd been involved with varies football clubs before, I'm supposing he knew this gooner CEO, so offered him the job but ENIC without Levy, do any of them know anyone in football? Have they got any contacts? Are they capable for identifying anyone?

I think they're going to stick with Gooner and Lange because they don't know who is any better.

Pure speculation on my part, maybe they know more than I think they know.

Postecoglou must have know what Spurs are like under ENIC with reference to transfers before he took the job. Otherwise he's an idiot.

So he takes the job and gets well paid by ENIC and knowing their usual and well known stingy sign young players transfer activity M.O.

Now after being sacked he complains about ENIC's transfers.

It didn't stop him taking the job and being very well paid for doing so.

If you still can't see my point it doesn't matter, enjoy the rest of your day.

What if they lied to him and told him he could have Semenyo, Neto, etc in the transfer window?
Many players have alluded to broken promises and lies from the board.

I mean, I wouldn't believe them either given their track record so I can kind of see what you are saying when you say he was an idiot.

But here is the crux of what I'm saying.

Even if he was a fool for believing them it doesn't make him wrong in what he is saying about the type of players we sign and the lack of ambition is he?

It's ENIC were talking about here, when a manager takes a job at Tottenham Hotspur FC, they should be aware the club under ENIC invest mainly in young players, it's not often they get a ready made very good player in their prime.

Just think of the best players the club had in the past 25 years, most of them were signed cheapy as young players that came good,

So any manager, :Postecoglou, Frank, Harry fuckin' Redknapp should be very aware that when they join this club, that's how it's going to be.

Postecoglou joined under those circumstances, got very well paid, and now he complaining about those circumstances as if ENIC being stingy cunts was hidden information when he took the job.

The top players will be more angry with the board. For not buying the calibre of player needed to create a competitive team. It's why the nearly always end up wanting out...
The majority of players, those who are bang average, will just be grateful for the opportunity to play at a high profile club.

But Ange was never under ENIC, he was under Levy... ENIC never took control of Spurs (Lewis kids), until after they sacked Levy, long after Ange left.

What part of Levy was was in charge of the club for 25 odd years that people are forgetting..? ENIC may have owned the club, but they had no input in to it, it's fans have been complaining about them (Joe) for years, they just didn't do anything.

Levy made all the decisions at the club, regarding players, managers, etc etc

Joe had zero interest in the running of the club...

Why are people rewriting history?

Levy ran the club, the head honcho, all club decisions are his, ENIC never had any interest in teh running of the club, they more or less ignored it for far too long.

Ange, was never under ENIC, only Levy. He was Levy's man, and as per normal, never supported the manager... again.

And that doesn't excuse Ange being completely incompetent and fecking useless that nearly did a Wigan.

He didn't complain. He just said, correctly, that Enic declare to the world and gullible fans that they expect to be a Top 4 club but don't invest what it takes to get there. The summer of 24/25 being a perfect example.

Instead they get gullible fans like yourself to get incredibly angry when Managers fail to achieve the impossible targets you've set for them (at Enic's prompting) - even when half the team is injured.

You should get down on your knees and kiss Postecoglou's feet for bringing you a trophy under those circumstances. Poch and Conte couldn't and they had the greatest striker in the world. Conte walked because of this shit. Postecoglou chose to risk his job by leaving Mickey and Conte out of the league so he could win you a trophy.

He did win it and you behave like a spoiled brat. Incredible.

However you want to wrap it up, Levy without ENIC, Levy with ENIC, ENIC with Coco the Clown, the transfer policy prior to Postecoglou being employed was there for all to see, sign mainly kids and hope they come good. Bale, Son, Modric et al, the club don't get many already in their prime players.

Postecoglou, unless he went into the job having worn a footballing blindfold for 25 years must have been aware the way they operated. When I say 'they' just assume I meant Levy.

So he took a job in the knowledge of what Levy/ENIC/Coco the Clown were like, he got well paid for it, and as usual it ends in disaster.

My point is he wasn't complaining about the transfer M.O when he took the job. So he took the job under those circumstances, and now he's complaining about those circumstances.

It's pathetic. Levy was in charge, he made all the shots, he was the one that picked Ange, didn't support him, and who Ange ultimately worked under. ENIC had nothing to do with Ange or appointment.

We still spent £400m or so under him.

I'm sure it's really easy to say he "wasn't supported", but that is near 4 times as much as he's spent on players in the rest of his career combined. Whether people want to point to circumstances or not, he turned a top 6 team + 400m into a bottom 4 team.
