I'll get called out for this, but if we go down, I'm probably finished with Spurs and football. When I weigh up how much happiness and entertainment they have given me in my 40 years as a fan, against how much misery and disappointment, going down is my chance to disentangle my life from this hamster's wheel. I'll probably cancel my TV subs (Sky and TNT) and will have little or no interest if we aren't in the Prem. It's all I've known i.e. top-flight football, and we are only where we are because of mis-management and greed.

Sorry if that makes me sound entitled, given how many teams go up and down over the years, and the fans stick with them - but I see Spurs as a business interest of rich people who have no interest in the football. They aren't working for my support any more, only their shareholder value.

We go down, I go out and, at 50+, get a new interest. Will just watch England games and be done with it.
I won’t blame anyone for saying they’re done with football. Things are very very different in the hyper financial era. It’s certainly not the game it was.

I think that if we do go down, this will be a watershed moment for many fans of football in general.

That a big and proud club would be run into the ground by its owners by a lack of any ambition while simultaneously squeezing every last drop of money out of its support for so long, it’s dastardly.

To know your club is run by bastards like this and there is no hope because ownership will not be changed is depressing in the extreme.

Few things can truly separate someone from a loved one, except betrayal.

You vow fidelity to your wife but if she betrays you, you are not bound and no one blames you for walking away.

The owners of this club have betrayed us for money over and over. They have violated the sacred trust of the fans time and again. I don’t blame anyone for saying that there is a better life apart from them.

Relegation habits coached in by Ange too tbf. I don't really blame Ange though. It's the guys who put the managers there and kept them there that are the problem.
I don’t see any Ange habits left tbh

Our issue is being scared to have the ball, scared to try anything and no self belief to give 100% of themselves

Ange was the exact opposite, they were too risky and sloppy in decisions out of having no fear of mistakes.

Dele was finished long before Jose arrived.

Jose had Spurs top of the league after 12 games, with only 1 loss; and only 10 goals conceded. Heading into the new year, Spurs were still 3rd. If Jose was backed in Janaury window; Spurs would have been top 4 and lifted a trophy that season.

The wheels fell off at the end of January. (Guess how many players were signed in January to help the team.....). Injuries and fatigued piled up, and Jose had many players in his squad he couldn't rely on - Reggie (crap), Dele (druggie), Ndombelly (fat), Lo Celso (injured), Bergjwin (crap), Dier (recent surgery), Sissoko (crap), Vinicius (crap), Winks (crap), Lamela (always injured), Bale (part time).

This was the transfer window to back Jose. PATHETIC and insulting to one of the worlds best coaches.

The managed decline of Tottenham Hotspur writ large.

Losing is a habit.

That's a trend started by Postecoglou, and a mentality that hasn't been shifted.

The biggest challenge Tudor has is how he gets this group of players over the line in any game.

One player having a worldie match, a special team performance or an opponent who has a complete off day. Something needs to happen.

Yep. This was the team when we beat Wimbledon 6 - 2, which helped keep us in the league when in a similar position.

Walker; Carr, Calderwood, Campbell, Nielsen; Fox, Berti, Anderton, Ginola; Klinsmann, Ferdinand.

Six Premier League era top players in that team.

Nicola Berti was a decent player but Spurs never got a tune out of him.

Nielsen won us the League Cup.

Calderwood and Fox should probably have never been signed.

Walker actually played for England. I couldn't believe it then and it makes less sense now.

Yeah I said the same above about the habit of losing

At least under Ange we knew that when they prioritized a win they could grind one out. Brentford away to kill the relegation threat, Bodo, Frankfurt and United in the final.

Now Tudor has to get the determination and belief to win back into them

Made my piss boil listening to him on The Overlap.

This guy only got the chance to manage Spurs because Levy had nowhere else to go.

Whatever hope Spurs had, for any of this group of players, crashed and burned under this fool.

The previous standards, that had been built up at the club, from Jol - Conte, were trashed by this amateur idiot and Frank compounded all the worst aspects of what Ange had allowed to happen.

Spurs have been a rudderless ship since the day Ange walked through the door.

We now have what amounts to a player mutiny against the club and the supporters because nobody at ENIC had the bollocks to sack Levy when Conte told the truth.

We’re going straight for the drop. This group of players is gutless, we have no homegrown players with connection to Tottenham, and that’s where the rot starts. Madders was truly the only one who actually “got” it, and he’s crocked. And forget the connection, we hardly even have good players ffs and the one we do have are crocked, cunts (Spence, VDV) or children.

Thats why we’ll go down. No one has a sense of pride connected to seeing Tottenham go down. No amount of quality can save us because our players are all duplicative profiles, and I’d add, Forest have a more technical and physically gifted side than us at the moment.

This is what happens when you don’t have any standards or anyone who actually has a backbone at this club.

Agreed. Early tenure Ange had these same players passing through presses like prime Barca.

Now, they’re lucky to string together 3 passes before it gets lumped away to the opposition.
