Rules Referees & Impartiality: Can this be delivered on a consistent basis?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I wouldn't be surprised if there is actually an organisation that represents the refs 'unofficially' and clubs have been paying them for mutual goodwill. Knowing Levy and the club, we are probably the one paying the least and hence we are always the one getting fucked the most in on-field decision.

Of course I'm just fantasising the above idea, but it literally could take other similar forms of working, and I don't believe corruption doesn't exist in this sport.

Wasn't Daniel Levy a pivotal figure in the negotiations for the European Super League that didn't happen?

Didn't he literally use his role as THFC chairman to stealthily plan and arrange a coup against the financial interests of the Premier League?

In layman's terms; he bit the hand that had fed him for over two decades.

No way he was going to be forgiven for that.

It is Spurs loyal supporters who are going to suffer for these actions.

But Romero did not accept it, he got booked for arguing which led to him getting sent off and the 4 game suspension.
True, I seem to remember reading Romero put a message on social media about refs but deleted it shortly after? The players will have seen all the same clips we have seen on the forums the last few days. What’s to stop them posting one or two of the clips of bad and questioning what’s going on? With all the iPads around the subs bench maybe one of the coaching staff should question the ref live on Tv after the match similar what they did to Kane that time.

I think they're all Masons....

Many fans on various forums have said about the Spurs disallowed goal but it wasn't just that one incident and the rest of the match was ok. It was unplayable, Tottenham weren't given a chance by an extremely biased ref who ruined the match as a competition. He rewarded the worst dives seen in the EPL and many in the media have covered it up. I have now blocked Talksport on Youtube when Simon Jordan slaughtered Spurs for diving last week coz Anthony (Woolwich fan) Taylor booked 2 Spurs players, and this week Arse.nil dived all over the place and got every free kick (Saka was a disgrace). But Simon Jordan showed he is a fake hypocrite and said nothing about them clearly cheating and the ref cheating!

This clip sums it up

Exactly it wasn’t just the one incident that the ref got wrong, had he booked gabriel in the 1st half for the foul on Muani the game changes, gabriel either doesn’t risk the dive and we get our goal and it’s 2-2 or he gets a second yellow for diving and we get 2-2 and they are down to 10 men, we probably still lose but it would have been a completely different match. The clip you posted should be a yellow for diving maybe if VAR spent more time looking at diving instead of wasting 5 minutes on every 1mm offside decision it might put players off cheating!

Two massive tossers

A bunch of spoonfed bullshit and in the end they both agree Gabriel exaggerated it but still he gave it anyway. If he exaggerated it maybe it's because there was actually nothing there in the first place! Doesn't even cross their minds?!
VAR look at the pathetic amount of contact and also conclude that it's a foul, it's just criminal really. It's barely a foul in chess ffs.
It's unreal how the rules are manipulated and changed each week to suit certain teams and harm others.

Really, any exaggerated dives like Gabriel's should be discounted immediately. It means contact was so negligible there wasn't a real foul in the first place. They can use common sense or interperate the rules differently just fine as long as it fucks us over. We've suffered 2 goals scored against us recently in this way with hands on the back and now a goal chalked off in this way. It's like the rules are used differently to mess us up. That law of averages stuff is a myth, there is no evening out over a season.

We are at the stage of refs coming out publicly and justifying shit decisions, we are absolutely fucked

They can justify this one because technically they were right to give the free kick. Thats why they're happily getting the ref out to explain it.

What they were meant to do was show Howard Webb the Ekiteke push and say "yeh so why was this goal given then?" And he would have to explain that it was an error but to avoid doing that the distracted everyone by randomly bringing the ref out to explain.

People should be focusing on the west sham handball decision which they would have had no way to explain it. They 100% called Dermott Gallagher and told him not to mention it on ref watch the next day.

Yeah you’re right from our POV, however but the problem is this is only going to encourage players to dive in situations like Gabriel’s - they’re putting their own ego at the forefront instead of remaining impartial and applying consistency.

They would’ve been far better off saying nothing at all because by commenting on it they’ve effectively validated that type of behaviour and set a precedent...Now players know that exaggerating contact can influence the ref because they know what the standard is, he has made a rod for his own back.

Honestly, something like this really wouldn’t surprise me,

Do they even have any measures to safeguard against it?

I would like them to explain why Ekiteke with 2 hands on the back of Romero is not a foul and this is.

Let’s be honest, this is not a clear foul because if he hadn’t called out, I doubt it’s overturned.

Also disgusting the way they validate Gabriel’s flailing by saying anyone would do that. The diving is never getting fixed with that attitude.

Just suppose we go out against Fulham and dive all over the place like how scum do...

How long will it take for someone to get booked for diving?
You know suddenly the ref will be able to detect dives no problem...

The game is gone, it really isn't sport anymore.

Well actually that ref watch muppet Dermot Gallagher reasoned that Ekiteke got up early so that's why it's not a foul perfectly fine to foul Romero in that instance. Rest assured though if any Tottenham player thinks getting airborne earlier than your opponent will prevent a goal being chalked off in the future, you've gravely underestimated how bent this all is.

That's basically what he said, I know I'm paraphrasing there but it's pretty spot on.

Diving is here to stay unfortunately, but it's not for everyone to abuse. Teams like woolwich have the carte blanche of course
