Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes mate, but a huge proportion championed the Solanke signing. You go back and you will see it.

I wasn't one, but I don't blame him, and the truth is how many better strikers have there been or were around then and since?

So many loved him .
Championed his running off the ball.. It was mostly after we signed him - and the normal understandable new signing /wishful thinking new signing bias.

When we were first linked many were underwhelmed. The truth is he was for most of his career a bang average PL player.
Not worth anywhere near £65m - and not even close to being a top 6 player.

He has relatively little to his game:

Can't run with the ball
Can't shoot from anything other than close range .
Can't play out wide
Is not even a good header.

He can hold the ball up ok
Sometime produce a one touch finish
Run around a lot without the ball.

That's a good summation.

I don't blame Solanke. He is what he is, and I do think he can meaningfully help us in our remaining games, especially as he can be a bit streaky.

I just think his signing, but also that of some others, without a star grade player or 2 is why we are in this position.

God that has depressed me.

same if the price tag was 10 or 20 million he would have been a good signing as a back-up striker
like Fernando Llorente was( his bum got us in the champions league final )

Some are forgetting Solanke's injuries, how he hasn't long returned and the winners medal he rightly earned last season.

Is he Kane or even World Class? No, but he is still a decent striker, much in the Pav mould, and doesn't derserve the bashing he's getting.

I have more confidence in him than most in the sqaud.

He has only ever had one good season.
Averages 1 in 4.5 and does not get assists
Terrible signing and a significant reason we have been shit.

You're also forgetting about his mega 9 goal PL season last year. Never where he needs to be for a 9. Complete lack of ability on the ball. Terrible holding the ball up.

God, he used to have an engine, but now that's gone.

He's always been shite, had a freak season, we blew the wad on him, even at the time, that was fucking ridiculous. If (when) we got relegayed, he'll do a decent job for us in the championship, because as he's proved throughout his career, that's his level.

Useless cart horse.

He's quite poor in connecting and interchanging with other attackers, but he's got a goal in him, he does probably need to be out there. A striker's finish tonight.
The cross was that good that it could've hit off him and went in.

He does not indeed have a goal scoring nack. I never have faith that he'll score. He scored 9 league goals last year. That's his level.

If we could swap him and Strand Larssen, who everyone thought £50m was crazy money, for him, id bite your hand to the bone.

Championship player who had a freak year. See James Beattie.

Okay, then who is it leading the line?
