Haven't been this worried since 2003/04. And to add to that the financial implications relegation would have with our interest only mortgage on the stadium and £300m still owed on mosfly crap player purchases.

I fear this is more an existential threat than just a fight for Premier League survival.

On this corresponding match week last year we drew with Bournemouth 2-2, fighting back in the second half after going two goals down. We were in 13th; had 34 points; +14 GD; and were 17 points clear of "relegation".

We would go on to win the Europa League Final. Meaning Champion's League football.

But the defensive injury crisis which was now, finally, over had shown just a how fragile our squad was. We could not have been given a more timely or obvious warning about the dangers of fighting on multiple fronts with a lack of requisite quality or depth in our team.

We were warned.

And yet here we are. Another injury crisis. On our second manager of the season. Four fucking points off the relegation zone. Winless in 11. Leaking goals for fun. Struggling to score at all. A completely demoralised playing group.

Every single choice made by this club since that night in Bilbao has been a catastrophic failure. Every appointment; every signing; every LACK of signing when it was clearly needed; all of it has been a complete disaster from the second the final whistle went and Son held that Cup aloft.

And we were warned. That's the bit that hurts the most. We were warned and we didn't listen and we made those choices anyway and it's all led to this. The fucking hubris of it all is off the scale.

It's all self-inflicted. A long drawn-out slow motion fucking calamity.

If we somehow get out of this, an entire Royal fucking Commission needs to be held into making sure we never ever make these mistakes again.

Rant over.
And a great rant at that.

Small tweak though. We wer'nt warned, they were. They being the circus running the club.

We as fans almost unanimously have been shouting the warnings as loud and from as far as we could. None of this shit we are in is a surprise to any of us because we've seen one bad decision over another happen in real-time without needing Captain Hindsight.

This is all on the board and I'd quite happily bring back flogging and the stocks for them as half-time entertainment next season. That will make me buy a season ticket again.

The stadium debt is tiny though. Something like £30m a year in repayments. Even in the Championship, we'd have more revenue than lots of PL clubs. We're not in risk of going bust or anything close to that

Shit just got real for me. Did not think it was possible.

The player morale is terrible.

Can we blame the manager again, again? Not sure.

Players need to show some pride and gumption.

Nah, this has nothing to do with managers. Frank was never the right fit, but the main problem is those players. The only reason we weren’t in a relegation battle last season is because the teams that came up were so shit. To do that in two seasons with 3 different managers shows you where the problem lies.

I’m not discounting the part ENIC and Levy have played in all this, but those players are the main reason we are where we are. They’re toxic shitebags with zero pride, fight or accountability. They’d sooner point the finger at the fans and go mouthing off to journalists anonymously about how bad the manager was than look themselves in the mirror and see where the blame lies.

I think a lot of folks simply overestimating the clubs around us and giving them 3 points against any old side that isn’t a big club. Reality is they will likely drop quite a few points in those other 7.

I think we need 5 points to be fairly sure we’re safe but to your point, I have no idea where those 5 are coming from. We’re comfortably the worst side the league at present.
West Ham got 12 points in the last ten games. That’s what I am looking at when I say I don’t think it is unrealistic they may get 9 points in the next ten. They look like they believe they will stay up and want to.

Forest got 8 points in the last ten games. I am less sure how much belief they have. But I’m worried because even half that return in the next ten games may be a problem for us. As you say, 5 or 6 points for us is likely to be enough. But based on the fact we got 4 points from the last ten games and our form suggests we wont match that in the next ten it is difficult to see us getting those 5 or 6 points.

As shocking as it is if something drastic doesn’t change we are probably going down based on everyone’s recent and current form.

Pray we survive this season, then we need to rip out the rot and first and chief among that is ENIC.

Survive first.

I don't know if being on such a poor run is good on the basis that it has to end at some point soon, or whether it's so bad that it's just not going to change. I hope it's the former.

Agree about ripping out the rot. I also think ENIC either sack the CEO and Lange instantly and commit to investing 300 million pounds on players, on top of any money that comes in from player sales.

Personally if we stay up I think ENIC need to sell-up.

There is just too much energy spent on the ownership and not enough on supporting the players and what they are aiming to do..

Pretty much.
The stadium is actually registered as a separate PLC

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM LIMITED overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK

There's absolutely nothing to stop them selling the club and leasing back the stadium if they could find a buyer foolish enough to comply
Apparently it's fairly common to do that with assets as big as that, as its risk mitigation. They could sell it and lease it back to the club, but that's very unlikely. No one is going to buy the club without the stadium, it would be a multi billion £ operation in today's world.

But ENIC be doing ENIC tings, innit.

I think we’re on the same page if not the same paragraph. I am genuinely terrified of the prospect of going down and it’s a very real possibility.

I am just not as convinced as a lot on here that those around us are going to scoop up points so easily.

Plenty of huge clubs / sports franchises don’t own the stadiums / arenas they play in .

I’ve always predicted that ENIC will one day sell the Club and then rent them the stadium .

You can bookmark this if you wish to prove me wrong .

This run was obvious and I was calling it out after the Burnley game - 4 points max from the run up to Liverpool.

Lose to Palace on Thursday and its curtains - if we can’t beat them, bearing in mind Guehi is gone and their best remaining defender will be suspended, they don’t score loads and lost to Macclesfield a few weeks back - then who will we beat?

Beat Palace and that probably give us the lift needed to beat Forest a couple of weeks later - win both and that’s us safe.

We are in dire straits though, Chelsea A, Villa A, Liverpool A, Wolves A (bogey side) Sunderland A - if I was being optimistic, 1 point.

Palace, Forest, Brighton, Leeds, Everton - terrifying to think we might have to win 3 of those
