Player Guglielmo Vicario

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

what has he saved tonight that kinsky doesnt? hes a useless cunt in 90% of games. we would of been a better side tonight with kinsky who apparently cant catch a cold, says it all.

vicario is a big reason to why we are shit, creates panic for us out of stuff that should be easily dealt with, cant kick a ball competently, never mind well.
Think just changing the keeper will feel like a bit of a fresh start. He just causes nervousness throughout the team and stadium. His shot stopping isn’t even good. Always at full stretch but never gets near anything. Second worst in the league at letting in goals/expected to save.

Bit like Lemmens at Man U... not sure he's that good but he isn't called Onana or Bayindir.

he’s trying to make every save extravagant to prove something. He can’t just make a normal save now aa everything else in his game is shot. Just gives encouragement to the other team. Play Kinsky against Athletico and I’d definitely play him against Liverpool as Vicario at Anfield will be a disaster.

This guy needed replacing in 2024. Its genuinely embarrassing hes still starting for us.
All he ever does is make the backline uncomfortable through his nervousness and shocking passing.
The history of ENIC’s Tottenham.

He’s a player many of us could see wasn’t good enough, but because he wasn’t seen as ā€œa priority positionā€ to replace and, crucially, because it would be somewhat costly to bring in another first choice goalkeeper so soon, we muddle on with him and persist with mediocrity.

Look at how Woolwich handled Ramsdale in comparison. Arteta gave him one season, he wasn’t terrible, but he immediately saw he wasn’t good enough long term, and without hesitation they went out and got a better goalkeeper.

Different mentality, different mindset, different ambition.

Nope.

I can't even recall whether he has chosen right way at least once

Edit: actually found stat he went right way 3 times. For 15 attempts 😭
Add in penalty shoot outs and he’s dived the right way 4 times. Fucking clown of a keeper. He’s the only keeper that can make big Fraser Forster look good at penalties. Hopeless keeper and takes fuck all responsibility and he’ll be another one gone next season. Can’t wait.

They got Raya at the end of the summer 23 at a reduced price because we and United had given up and signed other players. To get Raya ahead of Woolwich we would have needed to have paid the full £40m Brentford were asking which was never going to happen under ENIC when there was a player available for less than half that price.

Woolwich were in a stronger position to wait because they already had Ramsdale while both we and United needed new keepers as a matter of urgency. The choice was to either pay over the odds to get Raya early or get a player who wasn't as good but available for less money. Vicario overawed initially with his shot-stopping reflexes but as the 23/24 season progressed it became increasingly clear why we were able to get him for £16.5m.

In hindsight, £40m for Raya was a deal worth doing. The £16.5m we spent on Vicario has proved to be a false economy that may cost us our place in the Premier League.

I don’t rate Vicario but I haven’t wanted Kinsky in goal simply because he’s not a good shot stopper. At this point Vicario is not excelling in the one part of his game that isn’t horrific. Chuck Kinsky in against Atleti and see how he does, at least we won’t lose the ball as much.

The fact that we weren’t willing to pay top dollar for a new goalkeeper that summer is a scandal in itself. We were trying to replace Lloris - a club legend, captain, a mainstay in the side for the previous decade.
A serious club would have gone out and got their first choice target to replace such a major player in the squad. But Spurs? Oh no no.
As with seemingly every fucking decision made at this club, we gave ā€œDonā€ Fabio a shout, who said ā€œI know a guy.ā€
And that guy was Vicario. Was he any good? Not really. Did he suit the way Ange wanted to play? Couldn’t have been further from it. But, was he cheap? YES.

United are a moot point in the conversation as well. They went for Onana, who was their first choice target and cost more than Raya.

Sums up the majority of our transfer business under ENIC. Spending hundreds of millions on loads of bargain players instead of paying top money for fewer proper players.

Long term it has sunk us because our squad is just a collection of average or below average bodies.

He’s actually unreal there’s still comments from Spurs fans on here as recently as this week who still rate him. Utterly clueless. Vicario is a huge reason why we’re going to get relegated.

He’s the worst spurs keeper we’ve had in decades. An absolute clown show. Mistake after mistake. He injects terror into the defence. And he’s a cunt too.

I can’t wait until he fucks off this summer. The day I see he is fucked off out of this club can’t be too soon
No one rates him.
He's just, unfortunately, our best keeper.
