This is a central fear of mine. The lower divisions are very competitive, and we have a squad at present that doesn't seem all that bothered by current events. It's not a problem with one or two men, it's coming down from the top and pervasive throughout the club.
The complacency and resignation is a cultural problem, and if that culture is not changed we will find ourselves scraping by even in the Championship.
Just need to appoint the right manager if we do go down and we will be fine as an organised side with better players who can kill off games. Poch wont want the job so I would be looking at someone like Scott Parker but his football is dull or Steve Cooper who got forest up and plays a bit better stuff. Someone along those lines. Nothing too fancy, just someone who can organise a team.
Let's worry about that if the worst happens though. Plenty of time to put things right before worrying about that.
That's easy to say, you still need to have a buyer, at this point I don't see any other PL team salivating at the thought of being able to snap up a member of the current squad.
Said it earlier, but it would unquestionably be the darkest day in the club's history. The shame of this season would follow the club for the next 50 years no matter what we do.

I be willing to bet Poch will want the job he has been waving his knickers at us for years. His home is in London, big pay check, got all his friends at Spurs and if he gets us back in the prem he becomes the man of the hour and can pretty much own the club, a very big club despite the mess. There is nowhere else he has this level of opportunity.
The board are in crisis and Poch apparently wants to manage back in England. United will look elsewhere, I think Poch to Spurs is almost inevitable this summer.
I mean... on the subject of managers who play "dull football"... have people been entertained by the dross we've been subjected to under Ange and Frank and now Tudor?
I have vague memories of men in Tottenham shirts exhibiting attacking flare but it was long ago, and now we're on the cusp of relegation after chasing 'our Tottenham back'. The first year of Conte was the last time we looked like a proper club, he had us in the right direction and then he got no players.
People are too married to style of play when the game has changed so much in modern times. It's far more tactical, there are advances in training and statistics and analysis that other clubs are using against us. I don't think the days of devil-may-care blind flying are coming back.
I'd take 0-0s and 1-0s and tell you it tastes like fine wine compared any of what we've seen in recent years. We all said so after the Europa final. Results are the best seasoning. Why we should limit our options to only winning in one fashion, which may be outmoded, I do not understand.
In any case I still think Poch will want the job, but even if he does not, we need cultural change throughout the entire organisation, culture comes down from above and we will get what we tolerate. That is why we are here today

Caught bits of QPR / Middlesborough in the pub yesterday and they actually played good stuff.
I forgot what a well organised team with decent technical players giving a shit and doing the right things looked like.
I don’t know for certain obviously; but it would be remiss of anyone negotiating a (big) players contract if there wasn’t a get-away clause in case of relegation ( for whatever reason ) . It would hardly be seen as a “ good career move “ , in any country . I’ll see if I can find some examples .
Obviously ( again ) it’s unusual for a Club of our stature ( and with so many players of international repute ) to be contemplating this kind of scenario , but legal-eagles are paid a lot of money to protect their clients best interests . And turning out against Lincoln City on a wet Tuesday night in November for example , on half the (initially ) agreed level of remuneration, wouldn’t be in Romero’s ( say) best interests . Or so it could be argued .
Clever people these lawyers .
But to reiterate; I’m not privy to any of the paperwork that they put their signature to .
PS :In very many instances , relegated clubs are extremely relieved if high-earning players leave once the clubs income streams get slashed . Again , obviously .

Not going to dig Igor yet he has been here 5 mins but patterns of play is the managers job. We have billion pound facilities and two bob coaching and medical.
I'll only believe these clauses exist once it's better established in the public domain tbh. I'm not saying they don't, but the evidence seems pretty flaky.
Also, I don't recall coverage around release clauses for good players who have gone down in the past.
I agree many good players will want away, and that many relegated clubs need to sell for financial reasons.
Would be helpful if someone with facts on this subject could post.
