He'd be good in the Champ but only if his head's in the right place.

Wouldn't be adverse to selling him if the money's right and he doesn't want to be here.

He seems like one of those players who only have the motivation to 'prove themselves' and once they're regular in the team, they settle into a form that is a bit 'meh'.

Very much one of the "he wouldn't get into a top 6 side" players we have in the squad, but would probably look pretty much at an Everton-type side

Too true. He had a 6 or 7 game run when he first broke into the team under Ange where he genuinely looked top class. Maybe my brain has melted by watching Spurs be shit for so long, but it felt like his form over that brief period was about as good as any full-back I've seen at the club. 1v1 monster, great on the ball marauding runs - the lot. Then once he got comfortable his form quickly faded and he's gradually got worse ever since. Looks mid-table at best atm.

Starts off amazing then drops off a cliff?
Where have we seen that before?

Yeah I feel like there's been quite a few players like that (Wimmer, Gazzaniga) who really forced their way into the team, taking their chances, and then once they had a good run, just reverted back to being championship level players.

Probably add Winks and Skipp to that too, and maybe Naughton to a less extent.

He seems talented, but his jump to arrogant-like social media posts might indicate a lack of drive to really make it to the 1% of the 1%.

Kevin Wimmer still Stoke City's record signing. Levy Masterclass.

Find it interesting that Conte (world class coach) wanted nothing to do with him. Many managers before raised concerns...

Ange, (despite so many unnecessary opinions) managed to MANAGE him into a role in which he was really performing and SEEMINGLY contributing to this club.

Ever since Ange has departed this club, his attitude and actions have SEVERELY let him down.

Not sure whether it's evidence to Spence being a c**t or Ange being the ELITE manager I believe he is.

Either way, this is so frustrating to watch.

by the way, go and watch the alvarez counter! spence could of caught him but hes so thick he doesnt even realise he needs to sprint back till its too late, hes doing a half sprint at first, not busting a gut to get back. sums up his football intellect and awareness.

Actually agree that he's miles off it ATM. Such a shame as he has all the ability to be top-class.

I think it was pathetic from all 3 tbh mate. Romero couldn't be fucked at the start Porro gave up and spence couldn't be fucked either. And alvarez wasn't exactly lightening quick there either.

romero is never getting back as hes not a good enough athlete, porro can maybe do a bit better, spence is all down to not being sharp enough mentally to realise he has to power home form the off, hes only going full pelt the last 50%.

the touch from griezmann is absolute filth to be fair lol

to be fair to alvarez he takes it even further away from porro rather than going direct to goal.

Tbh i can't criticise spence to extreme. Hes been asked to play at different position. Hes a RB after all. Imagine at work you are hired for a particular job, treated badly by a manager who dont rate you, then another manager comes in and gets you to do a job you weren't hired for. Id be pissed off. But of course you have to be professional to a point.
