Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Club won't let both of them leave, it's too much upheaval.

Romero I think is out the door, VDV is gonna have to sit down for now.

Besides you know how things go when there's a new season, new coach etc...everything resets and the players seemingly reset back to normal.
I assume you mean if we stay up? If we go down I think both him and Romero are like 99% gone.

If we do stay up I suspect you're right. They'll both want a move but the club will be under far less pressure to sell and I'm not sure we'd get the kinds of offers required to sell both.

Unless the new manager doesn't fancy them you'd imagine one of them would be told to sit tight or get sold a dream by Poch/Di Zerbi or whoever we bring in.

Selling one works out quite nicely as it opens up a first team spot for Vuskovic who I think we need to start integrating ASAP.

Honestly get this weirdo cunt out relegation or not. If Romero is fit I’d play Danso over him rest of the season aswell (obviously would still play Micky over Radu Dragusin no matter what). Not only has he completely capitulated on the pitch, losing his head in just about every match for the past couple months, he clearly thinks he’s Billy big bollox with one eye on the World Cup too.

I promise we will not miss him much if at all when he goes either. He was crucial to Ange’s system but when you aren’t playing kamikaze high line defense he is very ordinary. Never improved his passing either. He is only an LB at the highest level.

Would be funny if Vuskovic has more interest this summer than Romero or VdV!

There's only a couple clubs that have enough money to buy Romero or VdV off of us though- I'd be surprised if a big enough club came in for both this summer.

Odds are Poch is coming back.

If not De Zerbi, who often employs 3 at the back.

High line will return.

Silly to eschew VDVs speed and ability to thrive as the LCB in a back 3, knowing what is likely coming.

He's under contract through 2028. Regardless of what happens with relegation, stupid to sell him. He's been shit....so has the entire squad. But we also know how good he can be.

He's more back 4 than back 3

“Is this true?”

No, it’s blatantly not true. It’s also a clip cut from an old podcast episode and published after one of our few positive performances this season. Make of that what you will..

Saying that, I’d probably drop VDV for Danso in the prem. At least until his confidence comes back or the team is playing better. He’s in horrible form, devoid of confidence, and not showing any signs that he’s got the balls for a scrap. Let him spend some time watching from the sidelines to work if he can snap out of it.

If we can get 125m for him and Romero I'm taking it. Both checked out long ago. In Romero's case he was lied to, so I have sympathy for him as he clearly wants the club to do more... but for VDV, he's just behaving like a bit of a cunt.

One thing I would say in Mickeys favour is that he has not had any proper coaching over the last 3 years.

He is not a Spurs fan either. He was asked to risk his hamstrings week in and week out under Ange and then told to just sit on the edge of the box by Frank.

He’s not had any chance to improve and I can see why he wants to go.

None of our players have had proper coaching in that respect for years.

Which is astounding really, some terrible terrible decision making at this club, I mean that's been the case for decades really but usually we're a bit up and down, this consistent run of poor choices is the longest losing streak for a while though.

It's been so abject that many basic facets of the game seem to have been beyond our players for a while, you can only hope that it's salvageable once a decent coach does come in.

tbh, I can see both being revitalised under Poch (if we stay up).

There are some players we really cannot give a new start to though. For me breaking the pussy latin alliance by selling Vic, Porro, and Bent is an absolute must, whatever else we do. Changing out the half dozen weakest mentality players in the squad and breaking up the awful leadership group could make a huge difference.

Agreed. Players out of form and moaning need to be dropped. Few things are more corrosive than guaranteed starting places, irrespective of performance and attitude.

Yet you want to keep two of the most prominent members of said leadership group?

Romero I can understand. But if we go straight off of mentality then Micky should also be sent packing because he's one of the most petulant players that I have seen in the shirt.

I don't think you necessarily need to exit the entire problem group. I do think you need to exit enough of them, alongside bringing in Poch, and new players with better mentality, to change the culture. Mickey for me has enough abilities that I wouldn't rush to exit him under a new coach, though I take your point.

He had his chance, he can go and fuck himself.

Clearly has an attitude problem and I don’t want this prick anywhere near the rebuild.

Cash in on him and bring someone in who shows character when it’s needed.
