Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And people wonder why our players don't improve.
Our players don't improve because most of those guys have been shit coaches, simply persevering with any one of them wouldn't necessarily have seen any greater improvement in the individual players than chopping and changing did.

Frank and Ange are both prime examples that simply "giving time" to something that isn't working doesn't magically make it work.

The only one of our recent managers that I would want to bring back if I had to choose one would be Conte, but Spence probably wouldn't have improved under him as there appeared to be a personality clash.

Not for me.

Covers both FBs, England international that might get on the plane, Home Grown, EL winner…

He’s moody sometimes, a little inconsistent, needs managing

But on form, excellent

I think he's been on-form for about 2 games in the last two seasons.

We need a refresh as a club, so players like him, Romero, Vicario, Porro and VDV need to be looked at carefully as to whether their attitude is outweighing their talent. I definitely think it is with Spence.

Players don’t need constant coaching. They should know the game and know their jobs especially by their mid 20s. The fact that they need their hand’s held and constantly have to be told where and when to run and what position to be in just tells you they are not good enough. Ability wise they are but knowing the game and taking info in they definitely are not. The best players take info on and don’t need continually told.
If a tweak in formation and position is changed then of course they need to be shown what the manager wants but our players make the same mistakes far too often.

This is modern football, most teams rely on automisms and constant hands on coaching with their managers screaming at them on the sidelines telling them to play the ball, look at how Pep and Arteta coach their players for example.

The modern way is do as you are told or you are on the bench. Pep basically told Henry that at Barca when he was starting to do stuff off his own bat. It’s the Spanish way but Iraola seems to be slightly different.
These coaches are exterminating the maverick players .
Cole Palmer is a bit of a maverick but struggling to think of many more.

Another call up to the England squad (over Trent nonetheless) and people are telling me he's crap and talentless and they want him to leave the club 😵‍💫
