Pretty sure we can hang on to Gray and Bergvall if we appoint a good manager and tell them give us a year. They're only 20, long contracts and they have time, no imminent international tournament after the summer either.

Easy to hang onto Moore with regular football. Vuskovic might be the tricky one but just loan him again at worst. Bring back Donley Devine, Philips, Lankshear and the rest can happily fuck off. Couldnt give a toss about 1 of them.

As for player power that is simply not true. Kane tried everything to go to City and it didn’t happen. If a player is on a long contract they have little to no power. Only players in their last 1-2 years will have power to make moves. For us it will come down to finances, how much we need to raise and who we want to keep. The club isn’t a charity.
No they don't - as we've proved before with numerous players, including Kane recently, players who are under contract go when the club says they can go. There are not many players who will down tool so much that they ruin their own careers, so (much like Kane in his last season), having had a little sulk they then have to get on with doing what they are damn well contracted to do until the club decides they can leave.
Iask to Liverpool recently proves they really do, if they push hard enough.

Liverpool had to pay £130m to make it happen though otherwise he’d stayed. All players have a price but if Gray is £70-80m I don’t see clubs meeting us for that.

Vuskovic is the best young CB in the world, a player we will probably want £100m for. If a club pays it he goes, if not he doesn’t.

Im sorry but who has stayed that wanted to leave ? They always go. VdV has as much Ed downed tools , Modric did , Kane to an extent but clubs are aware of situations & know how good these players are
Kane wanted to leave, the club made him stay until IT was ok with him leaving. Same with Modric, Berba, I'm sure there are plenty of others. Do you seriously not remember Kane basically going on strike for a week or so, his brother saying Levy had broken a "gentleman's agreement" ( 😂 ), then Kane coming back into the fold and playing that entire season before the club agreeing that he could leave at the end of it? Did you sleep through all of that? :/ 😛

And he left , no? 🤷‍♂️

Please name a player who wanted to go and didn’t leave

Guys keep your chins up. We will not go down. We will survive this. Please everyone stay strong and positive and just give maximum support to the Squad, Team and Leadership. This is just one bad season. We will bounce back. I believe. COYS!

Are you deaf? That wasn't the argument, you said: "… if a player wants out , they go" - I and others explained that's it's not that simple, they don't go until the club says they can go. I've never said players can never leave, I've said they can only leave when the club agrees (whilst they are under contract). Of course Kane is not here, but not only because he wanted to leave but because the club also agreed - at least a year later than Kane wanted - that he could leave. So relating this to the original conversation, players will not be able to leave in 2 months' time if we get relegated unless the club also wants them to leave and gets an acceptable fee for them. So your suggestion that players have all the power is nonsense in relation to the situation that everyone was discussing, i.e. whether players can just force a way out if we get relegated - they can't.

Yes, Ornstein is by far the most reliable voice in football so I would very surprised if it isn’t true.

A bit unfair for Kula and Madds as they wake up from their sleep?

There are going to be a pile of teams with 1st division, EPL and/or CL football that are going to go after Bergvall, Gray, and especially Vuskovic. They're going to give them the choice of buckets of money and quality football, or continue with the shit show that Tottenham has offered them and Championship football.
We love them but this is their job. I love my city and my friends but if someone was going to pay me obscene numbers of millions of dollars to move, I'm outta here.
I don't know if we keep any of them if we go down, they're not going to say no.

The argument ( if you see it as that , personally I don’t) was me talking to Tomo & me suggesting that when players make it clear they want to leave , they do , always . It may be 6 months after , maybe 12 months but they go

If , which is the possible scenario, that we get relegated, players will want to leave , will they want to hang around for another 12 months on potentially a 50% wage reduction , of course they bloody won’t 😂

Ps being deaf wouldn’t affect someone reading a post 👍

Maybe Scarletjim has them read to him by his butler ( or some other flunky ) and assumes we all enjoy the same level of privilege.

No, you said that in response to Tomo's post saying "Ornstein confirmed Levy put it in the players contracts" - it was a conversation about whether or not players can leave if we get relegated rather than playing in the Championship on lower wages, nothing to do with whether they can leave in 6 months, 12 months, or indeed 'ever' - that wasn't what the conversation with Tomo was about at all.

So, I'll try once more: In relation to your second paragraph above, it makes little difference whether they "want to hang around for another 12 months on potentially a 50% wage reduction" - those that are under contract won't have any choice, they will have to stay unless the club decides they can go (if we get a huge fee for them seen as good business etc). 👍

Buying club will still have to pay a massive fee at least £55m/£60m for either, likely more for Vuskovic which reduces the clubs that would stump up that amount for promise to about 6 or 7 in Europe. As much as we rate Gray and Bergval i'm not sure anyone pays what we would want. We are not going to be short of cash if we clear out who we should clear out.

Sometimes , just sometimes weirdly I’d like us to go down just so some people would finally understand the gravitas of what would happen .

These players , many on our books are basically a business in themselves , personal sponsors , staff , management, image rights etc in a very short career window . If you think they’d stay . Relegation changes the power balance immediately , the club doesn’t have the clout , financially and in statue to hold the cards

Relegation turns transfer requests from “conflict” into “process.”
