“Commit to winning”

lol.

I would put a shout out to the new fans representatives the club created last season. I've always got a reply to them when I've emailed them, and a decent empathetic reply - although it seems they have limited power.

THST though... weak sauce.
Unless you want £2 of a coach to Ipswich away. The Trust count this and some work they did with Spirt of Shankly to reduce prices for the bin dippers when they go to away grounds, as their greatest achievements... weak sauce indeed.

Waste of space

Pretty obvious from their recent minutes (and previous minutes) they are incapable of asking penetrating questions - questions they ask elicit a general discussion/answer such as 'we are committed to winning' which tells everyone diddlysquat

The supporters trust back when I was in my late teens going every week was super militant. We hounded Sugar out of the club by making his life a misery. If only we knew what we were getting as a replacement
:dembelelol:

My point is the trust should stop with the five principles approach.

Just look at this rubbish

1. Commit to winning
2. Attract and retain talent
3. Future-proof success
4. Lead with integrity
5. Fans first

Everyone of these is subjective. ENIC can say they have provided 500m in the last 4 transfer windows and argue that is a commitment to winning...

Honestly, there should be one aim for the supporters trust right now. Get rid of ENIC and the Lewis family. End of.
I don't know how trusts work in football, but I'm sure you can think you have input because you're in the room and still not have a meaningful voice. You'd have to start with identifying what you perceive your group to be and what you can realistically accomplish. Then you'd have to decide what you should or can spend. Do you hire a spokesperson or PR firm, for example, to exploit free media? Right now, I don't know who in the Trust speaks for them, but I see Chris Cowlin on Sky Sports all the time speaking for the fans. Not criticizing him for that, but if I were involved in the Trust I'd be asking why that isn't someone from their group. Until they have numbers and higher visability I doubt they can accomplish much. And if they can't accomplish big things right now, do they have a list of small things they could work on with the club centered around the fans game day experience?

Pretty obvious, IMO, the club have only ever paid lipservice to the trust. Go to their meetings a couple of times a year, let them feel important, pat them on the head ....

...and go right back to doing whatever they were going to do anyway. For the clubs its PR, no more.

For the trust, its them just being self important and trying to insert themselves into something meaningful (and failing)

Saw on football.london, their fabled fan survey - was around 4,000 responses. So somehere around 7% of the matchday crowd (not including the millions out there who might want to get involved from a distance).

The THST is nothing more than a very noisy minority trying to promote themselves well above their station.

If the Trust was effective, more Spurs fans would align with them but they have presided over years of being ineffective and seen as being in tow with the club despite claiming that they are challenging the club. The reason our board speak to them is that they know they can brush them away. This is why you have other groups like Change For Tottenham... In the late 80s you had TISA (Tottenham Independent Supporters Association) who had one goal... remove Scholar and stop Maxwell buying the club... it worked, as Sugar took over... fast forward 10 years and SoS (Save Our Spurs) were formed with one goal... getting rid of Sugar... they achieved it... Sugar won't hide from hate mob

We don't need this stupid 5 principles approach... the Spurs trust are too nice... we need militant action to get rid of ENIC but the fan base is so different from the 90s. SoS use to get 5,000 protestors regularly. We can barely muster 50 on the high road nowadays...

If they want credibility with the club they can't be a bunch of melts, demanding one interim sacked for another or going into these histrionics all the time

They cannot dump out a statement instantly and claim they know they represent the support

The supporters trust can fuck off, club is on its knees and possibly going down.
This appointment will give us a good chance of survival now, I'm more comfortable with staying up than I was.
The supporters trust needs to get behind the manager and shut the fuck up.
