For the life of me, I'll never understand why any Spurs fan would try to diminish the winning of a major trophy. I couldn't care less whether we had a tougher run to win the League Cup in 2008.

I enjoyed that victory immensely because it had been nearly a decade since our previous trophy. The Europa League gave me even more joy because it was a European trophy, and it had been 17 years since the League Cup win.

We can debate the merits, or otherwise, of managers over the years. I would prefer if the discussions were civil, but in these times of incivilty, I suppose that is too much to expect.

Surely the one thing that should bring joy to all fans is the celebration, without equivocation, of a trophy win?
In light of the bickering over the last couple of pages, I'd just like to repeat what I said in this comment. Surely every Spurs fan treasures every trophy? If not, why not?

Hahaha, another if.

Always using if to argue. Hilarious.

Yeah mate if peak Chelsea with Drogba & co had been in the Europa League last season that was competed for by 15th and 17th in the final, they totally wouldn’t have been favourites to win it!

We beat harder teams in that league cup run. That is just factual. It was a more difficult cup to win.

He's being sarcastic.

Ange and Ramos aren't even in the conversation. One is a useless fraud and the other was just out of his spanish depth. And Graham was always a fucking bung taking gooner.
Sorry JDefoe JDefoe , didn't appreciate that.

Think this thread is just getting beyond ridiculous. I appreciate what Ange did last year, like a lot of supporters, but we need to let it go now.

I think he's showing a juxaposition to show that cup win != great manager

I think people have just committed to a wind-up or a meme in here by pretending it wasn't a bit of a disaster aside from the cup win. Or at least I hope that's the underlying theme.

I think the summary of Ange's time here is that, if we didn't win that Europa League, he'd have disgraced himself as one of the worst managers in Spurs history. As it happened, we somehow won a trophy and he's still one of the worst Spurs managers of all time.

He went to Forest and was sacked after a handful of games because they realised he is a monumental fraud. He'll never manage a top club ever again.

The morons who support him will keep going on about how unlucky he was, the bad cards he was dealt, but the reality is, he won't get a look in at another decent club because everyone knows he's shit.

If he's so good, he'll get another top job and I'll eat my words. But I know he won't. So I'm not worried.

It's the ones who don't appreciate what he did that are the ones who won't let go.

Don't think any of them were actually there, unlike you and I. Maybe that's what the problem is? :ange-bored2:
