I count myself amongst the apathetic.

I also think there are much more important things going on in the world than Spurs currently.

I don't take football as seriously as you.
There absolutely ARE mate, you're spot on...
Same as there was worse going on during the '30s and '40s, and the grim days of the '70s...
Which is why people used football as a distraction from the awfulness and bleakness of 'real life's...
Football was and IS an escape... A safe space to scream your frustration at the world outside in the relative sanctity of like-minded others....

But when THAT safe space becomes intolerable... Where do you turn to then...?

Drink ...?
The nearest bridge....?
You tell me!

It's not about whether what's going on in the world is more important or worse...
It's BECAUSE there's so much else going on in the world that something as 'trivial' as football even matters in the first place!!!

.it absolutely HAS it's place in society, same as music for escapism, or long relaxing walks to clear your head.... and, in times like this, maintain even more importance than EVER!

Fair, and well said. In my 20s I was much more angry and invested in football but maturity should lead people to not invest so heavily in a sport infested by millionaire mercenaries.

This isn't the game (or the club) we fell in love with as children. Not for me anyway.

I do think those that are the most vociferous on here about wanting change are those least interested in participating though.

Then they'll mock the match going fanbase whenever we lose.

It warms my heart to know that that old paedo cunt on his yacht will have to pay for this one way or another. Either by selling at a massive discount, or by having to fund all of our massive losses caused by relegation and the rebuild to make sure it doesn’t last more than a season.

He deserves this, he could’ve spent when we were on top back in 2017, and he might’ve seen a return on his money, now he’ll have to spend to just to see us back to the position we’re in right now.

Also nice to know that Levy isn’t getting off scot-free, what is it, 30% he owns? He’s gonna lose quite a bit of coin when we get relegated too.

ENIC will be in a position they have never been in before.

Option 1:

Austerity. Sell everyone including the jewels Vuskovic, Gray and Bergvall. Make £300-400m and slash wages.

Pro: save money in the short term

Con: risk not being able to come back up or if we do get relegated again while De Zerbi quits. Value of club on paper decreases by £1-0.5bn bringing huge losses to ENIC.

Biggest loss to ENIC if it goes wrong but very limited losses if it works.

Option 2:

Fight.

Inject £100-200m. Sell Romero and the like but keep gems like Vuskovic and Gray and build with De Zerbi signing players to fit him.

Pro: mostly likely come back up and grow back.

Cons: ENIC will have to invest and lose some money

Would be a loss for ENIC but less downside risk of getting stuck in the championship and get bigger loses.

Option 3:

Sell

Pro: crystallise profit and not have any further downside risk compared to option 1.

Con: would be a loss of money as sale value will be less than last year.

Austerity is actually IMO by far the biggest risk as club value if we get stuck in the championship for a few years could drop £1bn or so but historically ENIC always go for austerity. Levy is gone but still.

Ha ha!!! How fucking patronising is that!

When I last checked this was a FOOTBALL forum. Lol....And this is a thread dedicated to thoughts and discussion of the ownership of the football club

Of course there are more important things going on in the world. And there's a multitude of platforms for you to go on and express your thoughts.

So how about you jog on and take your opinions on these more important matters to the relevant place and allow everyone else on here to discuss the topic in question
It's OK .. I'm gonna log onto a Golf forum and tell them I don't really take golf that seriously so couldn't give a fuck if Rory McIlroy has a Bogey stick wedged in his birdie bunker... or whatever it is they say!

But apparently, SOME people take that shit seriously.....

I don't .. so I might tell them there are more important things than a Multi Millionaire Irishman trying to put a glorified ping-pong ball into a hole 350Yards away!!

As much as Levy had jumped the Shark in his final years, he definitely sacks Frank in November and would have invested in January.

prem status was not something he played around with.

They generate so much profit from non football related events at the stadium they no longer need a successful football team.

I suspect they'll be happy to bumble along in the championship enjoying the lower wages and lower squad investment that comes with it.
If we get promoted some day, we'll increase expenditure the minimal amount required to give us a fighting chance of staying up

I've been saying it for years. They used a historic, high profile football club to build an NFL / multi purpose stadium. And now the football club has served its purpose.

They are the literal definition of parasites.

And you'd be correct.

Like me.
