Competition World Cup 2026

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They're going to make it into an awful spectacle aren't they...
I've bought a new TV for this but I'm not sure that I'm going to be able to watch it

I know what you mean .

Btw do you remember when all the TV rental shops did huge campaigns around upgrading sets in time for the World Cup . Originally it was a lot about switching to colour ( for Mexico 68 ) but they were still at as late as Spain 82 .

Also Wimpy, for some reasons made a big deal of it ; “ free” posters and wall-charts when you ate there . They probably cost less than a penny to produce but kids brought them into school and showed them off like they were the Mona Lisa .

( On a side note ; you should consider keeping your new colour telly ; whilst the licence is somewhat dearer , I think you’ll be happily surprised by how better the picture quality is than your previous b/w set . The difference is actually quite striking imo .

It's a vague memory but it's there...we moved to wembley pk in early 66...we had badges to wear saying "local resident"...

Welcome to America.

It’s obviously a long time ago and the America of today is all kinds of fucked up , but I remember USA 94 being an entertaining and successful event.

Looks like New Jersey’s having a bit of a kerfuffle with FIFA. You would think transport would have been an upfront undertaking by the host, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised at this given the state FIFA is in.

Well our man Don did promised that this years WC would surpass anything seen before in previous editions.

“ It is thought of being the most expensive general admission for a football match “

For once he seems to have true to his word (about something at least) Which is nice .

And it’s also , surely , addresses the risk touts of scooping up tickets only to sell them on at outrageous prices; FIFA having already “blown them out of the water” ( As Alan Sugar once famously said about the original Sky Deal ) .

Secondary market will almost certainly collapse, or the stadiums will have a lot of empty seats. FIFA has dramatically overshot the market.

What I don't understand is, are they having to run extra trains, like 'football specials'?
Whatever the reasoning, all this sort of stuff should have been sorted out by FIFA, before awarding the Wolrd Cup to the US.

Tell me why so many people were up in arms about the Qatar World Cup in regards to their lack of human rights and their morals as opposed to this monstrosity in the US where I don't hear a peep from the media.

I think it’s a case of where do you begin with the US full stop.

It’s like looking at all the things wrong with Tottenham at the moment and then pointing out Djed Spence wearing different coloured boots
