I hate to be so cynical and it's easy to say this in retrospect but if he hadn't done all the running around celebrating then his legs probably wouldn't have been so fucked in the last 10 minutes and he would've been able to help out. We were effectively playing with 10 men at the end of the game.
Just an observation, obviously wouldn't want to take that moment away from him but it's a fact.

Game had everything from him today, brilliant assist, wonder goal, terrible miss and then messing up that big chance at the end.
Whatever else you want to say he's got the spark and the quality his teammates lack.
The fact that every fan understands this squad's lack of footballing quality and that Xavi (even with his drawbacks) is a must, but the managers this year being completely blind to it is so infuriating.
I don't think he's a world beater by any means, but he can actually create, which is beyond the ability of the vast majority of our squad.
Don’t really like the thought of survival being on his slender and weak shoulders, but it is what it is.
Did that celebration drained the last drop of energy he had?
We can loan Xavi out for the season tbh (same with Vuskovic).
