Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

when he knew he could'nt be subbed why didn't head get a "head injury" we could have had a concussion sub, (yes he wouldn't be available next game but this was a must win

the extra time incurred when he was on the deck, almost certainly cost us the game.

Eh? Thats not how time works. One way or the other we play 90 mins of football. His time getting treatment made no difference.

If we want to criticise Simons for anything then its for being weak on the ball and trying to get a free kick in the buildup to their first equaliser.

Every single time he has a decent game, there's still people piling in on him, despite the fact that a) he's clearly the biggest (only) hope we have of pulling off the impossible and b) he's actually pretty good. Instead of any positives we're talking about how he hit the post/ celebrated too much/ got cramp and therefore cost us the game.

People say that the fans don't deserve relegation, and by and large that's true, obviously. But fuck me if I'm not thinking some on here might

They’ll praise Gallagher and Palhinha for pumping a fist though.

Surely, the time that it takes for the magic sponge guys to run on and off the pitch etc is added to the 90 minutes? Also as far as I know, the match can resume if a player is removed from the pitch to receive treatment, thereby reducing the amount of ET. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

He's the only fit player that can make something out of nothing.
There were times where I feel he should ride a tackle, as like Maddison, he is a marked man, and we don't get much from refs. Also, the goal celebration was way over the top; yes it was a great goal, and I went mental when it went in, but there was so much more game time to go, not last minute. And I would fine any player who takes his shirt off, such a needless yellow card.
Having said that, yesterday showed what he is capable of and hope that he can consistently deliver, at least for the rest of the season.

Ginola used to do fuck all for 80 mins of a game for us, but did wonderful things for 10 mins that would frequently result in chances or goals

I know what I'd rather see

I hate to be so cynical and it's easy to say this in retrospect but if he hadn't done all the running around celebrating then his legs probably wouldn't have been so fucked in the last 10 minutes and he would've been able to help out. We were effectively playing with 10 men at the end of the game.

Just an observation, obviously wouldn't want to take that moment away from him but it's a fact.

Must start the remaining matches though he had a very good match, also needs to work on strengthening those twig legs.

No.... No it isn't.

Damn looks like he'll develop into a top player for whichever team buys him in the summer

One of the many frustrations of being relegated

Never getting to see the potential smoke show of xavi, maddison, Kudus and kulusevski in a game

That just represents depth; not a high functioning front 4...... (Still lacks a sufficient LWer and fear-worthy ST)

Damn shit that we haven't had the benefit of it this season tho.
