Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His missed opportunity to put us 2-0 ahead, plus the extra time incurred when he was on the deck, almost certainly cost us the game. Could he have not been taken off the pitch to receive treatment so that play continued as he was done anyway. On the plus side, his goal was splendid and he shows passion, despite often fluffing his lines. Quite an enigma of a player.

That's not how time added works.

How the fuck does a premier League and international footballer get cramp on 80 minutes?!
No wonder 3 managers in a row didn't trust him.

The sheer unprofessionalism for that to be the case is something that no club should tolerate.

He ain't anywhere near good enough to justify starting when you know he is an automatic sub later on in match.

Going to be interesting to see which badly run club is going to sign him from us in summer as this lad can't be anywhere near our squad regardless of what division we're in

Cramp is unprofessional?

:wall: :wall: :wall:

A professional footballer getting it after 80 minutes is unprofessional. When's the last time you saw a player who isn't coming back from injury get cramp?!
Explains why 3 managers didn't trust him, fucker isnt fit

He is the only one player who has some sort of creativity in him and who can be a game changer. If he can do it just for 70-80 minutes, so be it. Literally all other players can't do it for any minute on the pitch, let alone 90. We need him!

But personally I think the celebration 20 minutes before the game ends was too much. Unnecessary yellow card and who knows, it probably didn't help his legs...

Still first name on the team sheet next game.

One of the most mixed bag of a game possible...

His vision for the first goal - fantastic! Excellent vision, inch-perfect execution. Really well done.
Goal? - so well taken, made room for himself, took it brilliantly.

Though on the flipside - throughout the 1st half Brighton good chances came from the fact that he has absolute zero ability to do anything in the defensive side. Literally the Brighton players on their right flank had acers of space to fire in good crosses. Until one of them was converted. And in the end clearly his issues impacted our overall fighting ability.

So clearly his performance had massive positives to it. And also negatives. Both were there.
I don't fully get it how some people focus 100% on the upside, ignoring downside. Also don't understand those either that focus purely on negatives.

Ginola used to do fuck all for 80 mins of a game for us, but did wonderful things for 10 mins that would frequently result in chances or goals

I know what I'd rather see
I remember an interview with Mr P who was asked about Glenn's contribution to games. He said that he might make two killer passes and we win the game 2-1, that's controlling a game.
'Nuff said!

Without him we don’t score without him we still concede!

Not sure about it, regarding yesterday.
As I said - the flank where he was supposed to help out on was the only part really leaking chances.

I would like him to be used differently though. Specially given the attacking options we have - I think we should use Richie and Solanke up top with Xavi behind them centrally. I see absolutely no use of playing Kolo Muani + Xavi on the flanks. As Muani is totally impotent - absolute zero goal threat. Could help us have bigger presence upfront AND not have the Xavi wing so vulnerable.

He didn't get cramp sprinting to close down and help Udogie out anyway.

Has barely played 90 mins since February, I think he has talent to burn, but I don't see enough in him attitude/heart wise and think we should cash in if the money is good and reinvest.

Can't see him ever being consistent in the league, another one that goes missing a bit and my impression is he seems to be out for himself more than the collective.
