Yeah...Lennon and Ade has worked well eh? They have had almost zero click since Ade joined. Rose at right back? What has to happen?

Fair play...These are fucking terrible. Rose, Townsend, Dembele, Chadli and Holtby had TERRIBLE interplay between each other under AVB. What are you thinking? Holbty surrounded by these players was so bad he went on loan.

Something tells me you were thinking of AVB's first season with Dembele and Sandro...Forgetting we had Bale back then too. Are you AVB? Are you trying Townsend out in the Bale role again?

A) I left yours alone since I've already made my points against your elsewhere, so there's no point in us continuing this here. In fact, if you'd like, I'd like to invite you to PM me so we don't continue flaunting our feud in front of everyone.

B) My team for next week features the best we have at our disposal. I can assure you, some of those players I very much wish I didn't have to play if I had healthier options available. In fact, more than half that team wouldn't see the field in optimally healthy conditions. Like I said, I do not envy Sherwood with having to make that selection next week.

C) It is a commonly used method of brief communication on football forums based on assumption that a "second string" is written out that features substitutes, not a cited and reasoned out team. Rather than countering each of your points about that team, I think it's important this be pointed out for your own sake in efficient communication with your peers here and so that you reconsider your counterpoints on the premise they are thereby null and void.

You mentioned something in one thread about how his ideas actually make a lot of sense, but the execution just doesn't seem to be there. Spot on.

It's not the execution, it's his conclusions. But yeah, there are a lot of points he makes I absolutely agree with, but he just massively oversteps or falls short of reality with his conclusions and then fails to listen to and interact with any bit of logic thrown in counter.

I think he and I need to just civilly and individually work out all the things we agree and disagree on, and we can both enjoy this place more and others don't have to put up with it.

Here's one (even though I posted this in the Soldado thread): if I were manager I would not start Adebayor or Paulinho on pure principle. You make that egregious of an error you don't start.

Danny Rose, Naughton, Lennon and Prichard the best we have at our disposal?

You are broken.

Haha alright then guy, who else are we going to play in those positions considering our injuries?

And for Chrissake bro, you've been exposed over and over again you can't even read correctly, you're just making yourself look all the more ridiculous with your insults of intelligence.

What do you wanna do? Play Naughton as LB and Walker on the right? Play Sandro as LB? What?

Like I said months ago: I would rather play a back three than have Rose and Naughton anywhere near our team. It's a loaded question anyway because if I were in charge, Lennon, Townsend, Rose and Naughton would not have been given numbers this season. I would have cashed in on them and invested on British talent with a brain. And this is not knee jerk, I was saying this when Townsend was flying high for England and when Lennon was killing it early last season.

Oh yeah. I've really been exposed. Starting threads on anti wingplay with Rose, Lennon, Townsned, Naughton etc. Yet again our shitty spine and paper thing wings fucked us.

Ridiculous insults of intelligence? You just told me TODAY you were not an advocate for Rose and Lennon. And here you are advocating they play the next game?

Haha good god dude, I'm so fucking sick of pointing out your reading and tactical ineptitudes. You want three CB's for a back line and no wingers, especially given our injuries at midfield and Kabs now out? And you think that's somehow going to prevent our hemorrhage of through-balls even against a safe Villa?

Shit I don't even have to continue mate, the rest is obvious. You're just clueless and delusional, and you've done nothing but dig deeper holes for yourself as you continue to flaunt this in front of everyone. If you'd like to continue this in private, I'd like to extend the invite once again.

traillaitor traillaitor I like your thinking. Your formation for the best part picks the best of our squad meaning minimum player pick up.

If I was manager and had Levy as my boss I would:
1. Swap Paulinho with Lakaku in a heart beat.
2. If Loris doesn't want to be here (and who could blame him) I would swap him for Hart too. (NB. This is only is Loris WANTS to go; I love the man!).
3. Here is my controversial one; Evra on a free. Sure Lennon has him in his pocket but he is infinity better than Rose (who isn't really) and for the next couple of years can provide experience in a relatively young squad. Imagine if Evra saw our wall fold like that today!
4. I would then look for a left mid. I'm looking at balance not symmetry so it doesn't have to be an inverted winger like Lamela. I have no particular suggestions.

Manager: Can I have 50M to spend? Levy: 40M? Why do you need 30M with this squad?

Well at the top of my list would be working on developing some form of cohesion.

Something that has been evident under both AVB and Sherwood is a complete lack of understanding between the players. They've either been confused into trying to adjust their natural game to a template (AVB), or given such vague instructions that they end up all over the place (Sherwood).

I'd go back to basics in many ways. Each player would need to know exactly what their job was, with some given more freedom than others. I'd speak to the team...at length if I had to...and make sure that the players felt comfortable about what they were expected to do, whilst also allowing some players the freedom to express themselves.

Sure there would be a plan A, B, C, and D, but on the whole the emphasis would be based on imposing ourselves on the opposition. I'd study our opponents, and brief the team on what to expect/exploit, without trying to treat them like rigid chess pieces or robots. I'm a big believer in the idea of instinct and original thinking changing games, so would be looking for players like Eriksen, Paulinho (to an extent) and Lamela (if fit) to have more confidence at doing what they do best.

In short, I'd try to encourage a more natural approach from the team, rather than make them fit some rigid structure.

More long term I'd want a real left-back, a creative central midfielder (failing that, I'd want a leader in the middle), and either someone with pace up front, or possibly someone like Bony, with either Eriksen or Lamela playing as a 10.

I'd also drive Rose to a far away forest, and set him free.

What year are we in? You're suggesting that we use tactics that are so obsolete that not even children ever use them.
