Rules Referees & Impartiality: Can this be delivered on a consistent basis?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I HATE thinking it's all a conspiracy against us, or just pre-planned like WWE wrestling used to be... But honestly, what the fuck IS it?

If refs are THIS bad, and VAR is no better, then THE SYSTEM is fucked!

if football is degenerating into tactical, set-piece playbooks with robotic players and Spreadsheet managers, then the least the PGMOL can do is match it ..
No emotion , no taking the situation into account (the 'situation' being whether it affects Spurs badly or not) and just have it as: a 2 footed challenge is a red, and a handball is a pen.
Simple, no black and white, just FACTS!

PL football is so fucked/corrupt and playing to the Global market, rather than the actual FANS of the clubs that I kinda half want out of it anyway!!

Maybe the Championship IS the new weekend!!??!

They've also had no penalty giving against them and have had no red cards.

It's a complete madness how people think this is normal. Meanwhile we've had some ridiculous red cards and haven't had one penalty all season. Var have upgraded our yellows to reds and overturned penalties for us too. Its insane.
Is that actually true??
I haven't checked, but fuck me that's bent as fuck if so!

As my old Physics teacher once said:
"if you're going to cheat, then don't give yourself 100%... sneak under the radar on 75-80%... or else it brings attention to it!"

Ok, he didn't say that... But you know what I mean!

Trust your instincts.

In answer to your question; "what the fuck IS it?"

I suspect it is punishment.

Punishment for the possible covert attempt to initiate a European Super League. :levylol:

Who stood to lose from that?

Who benefits from Spurs in the Championship next season on a Friday night or a Saturday lunchtime?

Whose money pays the referee's wages and Gary Neville's? (Romero should be sent off)

Do you see a pattern emerging?

If we were the ONLY ones, I'd agree with you....
But where are the other 4 clubs' punishments...?
Or is The Arse in perpetual 2nd place Purgatory THEIR version of appropriate punushment?

I have thought the Premier League to be increasingly predictable and probably corrupt.

The (deliberate) misuse, manipulation and inconsistent manner VAR has been used, since it's inception, has led me to the conclusion that professional footbal has gone the way of boxing and horse racing due to gambling.

I think we are watching the Hollywood ending of Pep's domination and the artificial elevation of Woolwich to the pinnacle.

The master handing the reins to the apprentice.

Woolwich needed to be helped to the title just as Spurs have been helped on their way into the relegation zone.

I expect it all to happen on the final day of the season.

Don't get me wrong; Spurs are shit.

Levy made Spurs shit for 7 years.

I just find the odds of Spurs being relegated in a season where Woolwich can win the Premier League and the Champions League to be too coincidental.

I think we are watching a fixed, pre meditated outcome unfolding.

When something is too good to be true, (from a Woolwich perspective), ; it probably is.

Haha not a rival fan calling out unconscious bias from referees against Spurs, not like I've said that numerous times this season but dudu dudu thinks I'm being delusional 🤷‍♀️

Seen all this shit happen with other teams.

Refs are inconsistent.

No argument for me there.

Do we get it worst than other teams.... meh.

Some other fans trying to get clicks doesnt sway me here

Well Yeah you're solidfying my point... we have all seen it happen with other teams which indicates some sort of bias, this is not exclusive to Tottenham and I'm not claiming that we are the first team it's happened to, neither am I claiming that we get it worse than other teams?

I'm not sure the 'Spurs are getting hard done by' narrative drives the engagement you think it does especially when the general consensus is that most people want us to go down.

The announcers never criticize referees, the FA/ PGMOL fine anyone how challenges them and yet the rules consistently change on a weekly basis.

If you’re on one side you benefit over the course of the season. Notice how United are in the Champions League places, Woolwich consistently benefit and we have controversial decisions that go against us every week. This is the worst season that I can remember. Last year Liverpool got every call. A couple of years ago United had 85% more penalties than anyone else. Most were dives.

We were 40/1 to go down at the start of the season. With fair officiating we would be outside the relegation zone (not by much), United would be mid table and City would probably be 10 points ahead of Woolwich.

If any of this has any shred of truth or credibility to it, then it's probably time to pack up, go home, and let them have their fucking Circus!

I wouldn't want to play my part in it...

Id say right now there are 4 clubs that people could talk about online in the Prem that would drive engagement more than the rest - Woolwich, City, West Ham and us.

Anything to do with us will get more engagement - and 'Spurs are getting hard done by' narrative will especially get engagement from many, many Spurs fans - yourself - case in point......

The Spurs going down and being crap narrative drives far more engagement than the woe is us narrative because fans want to revel in Spurs' misery.

There is far more rival fans than Spurs fans on the internet, mainly made up of Woolwich, Liverpool and Utd fans so why would they buy into the unlucky Spurs narrative?

You want me to explain how content makers come up with ideas of things to post to get engagement?

There are more tools out there that I could name that track keywords, trending topics, etc. than I could mention.

There is clearly a narrative about this trending; they jump on the bandwagon to get engagement from Spurs fans, like you, who click on it and share it, or rival fans who want to argue with it too, as it is controversial.

Either way, there are so many people online posting things constantly - they aren't all only going to post one thing - she has 138k followers and needs new content constantly.

This isn't just a 'fan', it's her content-making business.

You're not really addressing my argument once again...I know how content creation works and the click baiting to drive engagement but thankyou.

You think she is purely playing on the conspiracy angle to drive engagement to make money but my point is that if that is the case then she could have used another angle which is more popular and that is the complete opposite and lean into the 'woe is us' narrative.

The dodgy officiating narrative is really only trending within the Tottenham fanbase, and that’s the point. Spurs don’t command one of the biggest audiences on social media, we’re roughly sixth in terms of fanbase size in the Premier League, and by quite a margin.

The narrative around us potentially being relegated is gaining traction across the wider football audience and the media that’s where the real engagement is, so if she were purely chasing clicks and engagement logic says she’d lean into that more popular narrative especially considering she’s a Man Utd fan...it would be far more beneficial for her to push that perspective rather than one that mainly resonates within a smaller Spurs focused audience.

Have a look on the views on the videos on YouTube about Spurs going down if you don't believe me.

She is a fan and she makes content but her calling out unconscious bias which I said exists isn't purely done for engagement, it's because it actually exists.

You don't need to have the biggest audience on social media, bro - sixth even by some margin is still 6th out of many and pretty big.

Youre here, posting it, and it has had 21k views, which is pretty normal for her AND she posted a scathing video about us after our loss to Sunderland, which has 1k more views than this current one.

Maybe, just maybe, she knows what she is doing better than you do.

I didn't post it though? :D

And sure you might not agree but you’re the one saying she’s doing it purely for engagement when realistically it would be far easier and more beneficial to just fully pile in on Tottenham.

I'm sure she knows a lot more about content creation than me whatever you're getting so far away from the actual point for some strange reason. Whether she is purely posting for engagement or not she admits that unconscious bias amongst referees exist in the mind of referees when it comes to Spurs which is my actual actual point.

I’ve seen her content before as well. If she genuinely wanted to pander to the fanbase, she’d be going all-in — calling PGMOL corrupt and pushing full conspiracy narratives but she hasn’t done that.

It's not about pandering - it's about meeting what people are searching for.

21k views - same as when she fully piles on says it's not more beneficial to just pile on at all.

And again - I have seen vids and people posting about the unconscious bias refs have when it comes to Liverpool, Chelsea, arsneal, Man U this season too.
