Yeah no chance in hell Emre let's them take it easy. He barely rotates at the best of times - we'll be lucky if they change more than about 2 players I reckon. If anything Villa will go extra hard early game to try and kill us and then take off their best players.

Yeah I don't think he'll rotate.

Thursday however is villa's biggest game now in decades, that was the perfect result for us, still in the tie but work to do.
ideally the players will be mindful of not missing out. Not sprinting as hard, not risking too much etc

Yes, the media love an underdog story, but in our case, it would be pitched as "how the mighty have fallen".
The only way I see to avoid that is to get to the top of the Championship and stay there for the season, if we slip down that league then the pitch that you mentioned would be accurate. We'd all know it ourselves,

Anyway I still have a small hope that we can catch up 2 points on West Ham over 4 matches.

:vdvcry:

We can't just match Spam's result this weekend, pal...2pts adrift with 3 games to go, one of those being away at Chelsea?! Nah man.

Must pray that Brentford smash the pikeys...they friggin owe us after Frank (and even Brennan)! And we absolutely need to then win at Villa. Chelsea beating Forest would be swell too...that'd mean Forest in P16 on 39pts, us in P17 on 37pts, pikeys in P18 with 36pts.

Need the twats down the road to pick up at least a point at the caravan park next weekend, and if we beat Leeds on MNF, I don't even care if Forest beat the barcodes, we'd be on 40 pts and Spam on 36 or 37 with a shittier GD. Then we go to Chelsea and welcome Everton, while Spam got Geordies away and Leeds at home.

Things go that way til matchday 37 and I'll start believing we might escape. But we got 8 wins out of 34 this season, so 3 wins on the spot, I doubt it.
Yeah that is the best case scenario but ultimately winning against leeds next week is the non-negotaible. Assume West Ham won't beat Woolwich so that'll be atleast a 2 or 3 point swing if we beat Leeds. The important thing is to not fall further behind west ham before then.

I'm just being realistic. If we keep within 2 of west ham going into next week then next week is our chance to pass them out. If we don't beat leeds at home then we are gone anyway. That is the non-negotiable game which we have to win. But we need to make sure that win puts us ahead of west ham which means just not falling further behind this week. Thats how I'm viewing it. Just taking it one game at a time. Obviously I'd much prefer if we just win our next 2 games and west ham don't!

We have an advatange of playing chelsea after west ham play newcastle so we'll know going into that game what we need. But its critical that we go into the final day ahead of west ham. Leeds will rollover if they are safe. Everton will be a tough game for us but if you told me right now that we just have to beat them on the final day to stay up then I'd snap your hand off for that scenario. If we go in behind west ham then we are gone!

No way, not yet with their fixtures:

Chelsea A
Newcastle H - 3 days after Europa 2nd leg
Man United A
Bournemouth H - potentially 4 days after Europa final

We beat Villa and they lose to Chelsea and there is 2 points in it
Not sure we will get enough points even if Forest lose every game. You're also playing too much emphasis on when the fixtures fall. They have already proved they can play before and after a midweek fixture and play well and win.
Just to add , I have a feeling West Ham will not win any of their next three. Tight draws or narrow defeats I think.
I expect them to only get between 0-3 points from their next three games despite their current form. Theyve been a bit lucky and had a lot of breaks in their last two games. Im hoping their luck and break of the ball will run out very soon.

I'm the opposite. West Ham look like a team in form and in control. They look dogged at the back and with Bowen up front they have quality.

I think they'll get a plucky point against Brentford, lose to Woolwich, draw against a terrible Newcastle side and win their last match v Leeds comfortably.

We had plenty of chances to get out of this and I think we've missed them.

Spam are entering the stretch where they are likely to falter, but we have to do our part.

It's a shame that we fooled about with Tudor instead of just increasing the offer to RDZ until he said yes, if we'd replaced Frank with him immediately when he became available we'd not be in this mess.

But... it's there. The points we need are on offer. The players have to do it.

We’d win the League One title the year after tbf .

And we’d get a parade .

He’s true to his word I’d have you know .

:roflmao:

Imagine if we had kept him. He'd have told Levy to sign a few more donkies like Dragusin, Tel, Solanke etc and we'd be rock bottom and down already.
And the cultists would still be here every day in total denial.
We could theoretically finish this season on more points with less losses than last season which is mad.

People forgetting that the 3 teams we need lose, Forest, Spam, and Leeds have all only lost 1 in their last 6 games.

We are down, as I can't see all three losing this moment they have.

We fucked it at the start of the season, when Levy fucked the transfer window.

Left us with only 1x LB and LCB, 1x Creative MF, no functioning left hand side, loaned out all our talent, leaving the same old senior players that have constantly let us down..

We are down and it's out of our hands.

They have lost just 1 in 6, we have won, 1 in 20

Things are more than a little “ mad “ already down my way tbf

Nerves starting to kick in re this weekend; and I’ve just about f-ing recovered from the last one fwiw .

If we don't take any points and Spam get maximum points this game weekend, then I fear the worst. My head tells me we are down, my heart won't think of anything but survival until it is mathematically done.
