The utter wilful stupidity of some Spurs fans who refuse to correlate injury crisis with League form is simply astounding.

Either way, to finish 5th and then win our 3rd European Trophy with this current squad of misfits makes Postecoglou not just "great" but a certified legend - hence why this thread is heading towards 6000 pages 😍

No, he manages another ultimately average to poor premier league team and is an ultimately an average to poor coach, who will probably will the incredibly mediocre competition that the EL is and then never do anything else of note.

It isn’t even slightly a marker of a quality manager. It is the backwater of Europe. Freiburg and Forest and Braga mate. A who’s who of Europe’s nobodies.

I imagine if he keeps Forest up and wins the Europa League he will be regarded as a legend by Forest supporters and rightly so.

He probably will, and they’ll all be working off emotion and wrong too. Understandable of course. It’s a trophy. And it’s European so it must be good!

Fans aren’t rational about this stuff. It is objectively, factually a very low quality competition. We will (again) see English teams clean up the EL and conference because the resource advantage borders on hilarity.

You don’t need to be a good manager to win it. You don’t even need a good team. You just need to be in it and committed to going for it, and hope you’re the best of the mid tier English teams who qualified for it that year.

Congrats, have a trophy.
