De Zerbi has his own style and system which is miles ahead of Ange, which was a disaster. Trying to make out RDZ will take anything from Ange is demented, and something you'd only see from a cultist.

I notice one person in particular keeps bringing up RDZ's quote about get us playing like Ange. It's taking it far too literally. He's just trying to remind this group of players, that they can win games and play well. And that frame of reference for them is Ange's first 10 games, and a small random isolated group of performances after that. There is nothing more to it than that. He was clever in doing so. As quite clearly Frank and Tudor's tenures were a complete disaster, and going back before Ange to Conte is pointless for the majority of the squad who didn't play under him.

Some people are trying to make out like RDZ is in thrall of Ange's football. It's nonsense. RDZ's is leagues above Ange in every way. If there is any respect, it will be that Ange tries to play the right way, it's just a shame he was hopelessly naive and is doesn't translate to consistently winning football in the PL.

His football and coaching ethos is very highly regarded in its own right. Guadiola calls his particular football unique, and claims no teams play his way. I just hope the board really match his ambition because I think we have arrived at the best fit we could possibly get. Less intresed in the past but in what staying up under him could mean...yum yum 😋 😜

Ive a few blocked mate I genuinely dont see their content. Im not at all interested in their opinions not secretly or half an eye. Its the thing about online forums I just reject, you DON'T have to interact with every other user its a choice. One im very cool with. One user ive simply ignored for three years only realised he was still there when his repose to my post was quoted by another person. You can simply ignore its by far the best way.

Finishing 5th... He is the only spurs manager in 2 decades to not have had to juggle European football and league football in a season.

The moment he did, we finished 17th.

while us winning the Europa league was great for the club.

For prem clubs, It appears it is harder to qualify for European football via league position than get to a final of Europa league or conference league with the new format.

No it should just be a minimum expectation of European football via league position.

Then obviously context applies if we win a cup and qualify and haven't disgraced ourselves in league position.

It's just incredible how they apply their judgements. It's as if the entire Conte years have been wiped from memory.

Let's just recap how things went for Spurs under one of the best and most winningest managers in the caper at the top his coaching game:

21/22 - Tottenham recover from a poor start to make Top 4. A massive tick. Built largely off the back of prime Kane and Son combining for 40 Goals and 15 assists! And the January transfer window which brought Bentancur and Kulusevski to the Club.

BUT

In the same year, while "juggling European football" Tottenham under Conte were bundled out the fucking CONFERENCE LEAGUE after losing to the likes of Vitesse, and the mighty NS MURA...

But we take the Top 4. That's a good result even if Europe was a bit humiliating.

22/23: The season Derangers never want to talk about. Despite prime Kane and Son combining for 40 goals and 9 assists the league season degenerates into complete abject farce with 14 losses meaning Spurs limp into 8th and are bundled out of the CL by a pretty awful Milan side.


That's how Tottenham travelled with the best striker in the world and the best LWF in the world absolutely crushing it and being managed by one of the best and most winningest managers in the caper.

I think Postecoglou's record stacks up when you factor in the loss of Kane in the first season and then the ruinous injury crisis in the second. TO get us into Europe first season and win the fucking Trophy in the second is much better than what we achieved under Conte imo.

Does this mean Postecoglou is a better manager than Conte? Of course not.

But it does probably mean that the Derangers are not being serious people when they hate on Postecoglou (and any Spurs fan who appreciates him) in the rabid fashion they do. It's just ridiculous. They are ridiculous.

It literally is, there's no other way to define it, especially since we finished 8th the season before and had no Kane.

The European football part is just arbitrary nonsense, you measure achievement in the league with where you actually finish

We played 2 games more than everyone else that's why we were 4th, it was always going to go to shit especially since we got battered 4-1 by Leicester who got relegated and lost our 2nd best player (Bentancur) to injury.

You could say the same about Postecoglo-we just collapsed at the end, but less so that we ended up fifth not 8th.

1. Postecoglou took over when were 8th, not fourth. 8th is shit.
2. Postecoglou had no Kane to score 30 goals for him that Conte had.

5th is better than 8th, 8th is better than 17th......you dont finish 17th unless your diabolical

Obviously he had no kane, but he had capable players that contributed as much as, if not more than the competition.
