Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Harry makes teams better. He doesn’t win you matches through individual brilliance. Wouldn’t have mattered if he went to City, Madrid or whoever. It will always be true.

Well that’s just wrong. He doesn’t win you matches through dribbling through a team but I’m pretty sure the glorious over the top ball for Diaz and the picture perfect goal he scored constitutes individual brilliance.

He was spectacular that first leg. The second leg PSG modified their tactics and every time he got the ball he had 3 players on him because they were scared of what he can do with a ball.

I’ll upset a good portion of the forum here by saying that Harry Kane will never be an all time great irrespective of stats as he does not posses the ability to turn and win his team a game in the biggest moments. People are going to whinge but if you watched Bale, Messi, Zidane, the Real Ronaldo, etc. what they could all do is take the ball in chaos and create that magic moment that changes a game.

Harry needs someone else to create the magic for him to finish. That means if you are ever truly under to cosh, fighting to stay in the game, he will never change it for you. Son could and did for us, so did Bale. Harry couldn’t.

Just a bunch of garbage.

Maybe. I’m of the opinion he would be like Haaland though. A great goal scorer but unable to turn the biggest games.

Haaland is an odd one. He scored a lot of goals but also seems to be anonymous most of the time IMO.

He's the player equivalent of that team that you don't see winning loads of games or playing well, yet they're 3rd in the table

Kane is maybe half as good as he was in 2017 tbh.

What he’s able to do without any pace left is remarkable. And it’s such a shame his career didn’t see the heights it should have.

Like I said I am sure it would make people cry.

On your point of the pass to Diaz etc. I’ll leave you to tell me how he dragged them over the line against PSG… Wait…

He scored 2 goals and assisted over the tie. He’s not Messi. PSG are the best team on the planet and have numerous game changers of their own. They outperformed Bayern.

Kane had them on strings the entire first game. The second game he got one sniff fo a chance and lasered it top bins. You guys are just chatting..

Had Olise put away the gorgeous pass Kane played him in the first leg they’d have been playing ET. In addition, he got 2 goals and an assist against Madrid in the tie beforehand.

This is the whole point of what I said though. Truly World Class players carry their team through. When the chips are down Harry doesn’t do that

Your whole point is he didn’t score like 4 goals against the best team in the world and instead had 3 goal contributions? It’s a terrible point.

PSG have numerous world class players. None of which were better than Kane over the two legs, they just played for the better team.

I think there is an argument he was a more devastating player in 2018. When I think about the versions of Kane Ive seen that Kane is my favorite the mobility he had before the ankle injuries... he was superb.

He was more mobile but he’s far more polished now. His finishing was good before, now it is unerring. I’ve never seen someone find the corners almost every time like he does.. his passing and hold up is also levels above 2017.

But yeah, he’s always been brilliant, he just has more of a platform now. Some people seem to think you need to be some inevitable unstoppable force to be “world class” though which would mean maybe one or two max from every era meet the criteria.

He’s been one of the 2 or 3 best strikers on the planet for most seasons for a long time. That is obviously world class. He’s now the best CF full stop - he easily makes a world XI ahead of Haaland this year.

PSG don't have many game-changers in the purest sense. That's just incorrect. 1 or 2 maybe and that's a matter of regularly change the biggest games. Not been many of those, ever.

PSG have shown themselves to have the best team over the last couple of years, and within that have a couple/3 at the very most who might be able to produce one of those days.

I think Kane of recent has been as good as he can be. Sadly, when he actually had the best unit behind him he wasn't as good or as clinical.
