I occasionly post on other threads if I can make a worthwhile contribution.
But,
Yes. I'm a proud Aussie.

I think Ange was doing a great job in difficult circumstances, and would of led us to challenge for the PL, if he had been backed with the players he wanted.

And I'll continue to support him on the Ange Postecoglou Thread.

You can always twaddle off to one of the numerous other threads.

so the guy who said...

"I will always forsake the quality of a player for the right character. When you’re working at this level - I know the fees we pay these days are ridiculous - I don’t think there’s a lot of difference between the best quality and the next level, it’s really small."

...actually did need the "difference between the best quality and the next level"

As I've said numerous times, the problem in Ange's second season was a lack of squad depth to cover all the injuries.
That's why had to play Archie out of position at CB and have Fraser in goal.

All the top teams have 2 or 3 competent players for every position.

Except for Spurs.

There is no PL rules that allow that. You can't have "2 or 3'" players for each position without needing academy/U21 players, and also the bulk being HG.

Fraser was the back-up goalkeeper and an excellent shot-stopper. The lack of ability from Postecoglou was his complete and utter inability to play in any compensatory way and insisted on both Forster and Vicario playing with the ball at their feet, which was a disaster.

In addition, people say "he had to play Grey" or "teenagers" (like bergvall), ignoring that they absolutely delivered when asked

Praise your current players can be a political move.
But, praise a previous manager? When at the same time you say nothing about the last two? Not to mention the fact that he actually changed the style of play to the one he was praising.
Sure he’s going to want the players to be on the front foot and be possession based which is what I think he was getting at, but have you seen RDZ play a suicidal Ange high line, be like a sieve at set pieces or concede tons of goals?!

No thought not! 😁

The possession based aspect is where the comparison to Ange starts and ends. RDZ is much more balanced in his approach and clearly a far, far superior coach!

Absolutely hilarious that your only recent activity on this site is stanning for fat Ange in this thread. Aussie tourists never beating the allegations lmao

That's an interesting form of of attack line given that you have posted more in this thread in the last week than you have posted in the thread of our Current Manager - Roberto De Zerbi - during a relegation battle. :D

At least you're not as bad as resident crushing bores Harrier Harrier and at CJJ CJJ who have posted more in this thread - a person they purport to hate and be uninterested in - than in the De zerbi thread by a factor of 10-1 over the last ten days.

But no... you're not Deranged at all. It's perfectly rational that in a relegation battle you'd be spending most of your posting time picking fights in here rather than discussing the relative merits and successes/failures of our CURRENT manager :roflmao:

Ange Postecoglou - burning Deranger moths since 2023. :D

Ps: 8 days to go until the anniversary . Let's hope De Zerbi gives us another massive achievement to celebrate. 😍

Please correct me if I am wrong, but aren't PL teams allowed a squad of 25 players PLUS the youngsters?

That means we could have 2 competent players for every position and 3 of those postions would be allowed 3 competent players.

You said the only reason you decided to post on this thread again after having a break from it, was because you'd decided Thomas Frank was no good, so why are you still doing it, do you consider De Zerbi to be no good?

Because it's a mildly diverting distraction from the bleak existential horror at the prospect of the relegation Derangers forced upon us?

But I'm active on the thread of our current manager - the bloke trying to get us out of the Deranger mess. Unlike your good self whose last post on the De Zerbi thread was way back on the 17th April...

And was about Chelsea's ex-coach Maresca not the current Spurs manager. :rdsfacepalm:

Fuck me... Derangers. Even now, after all this, you guys can still surprise me with your insanity :D

Why do you think Ange sanctioned buying Bergval, Dragusin, Grey & Vuskovic?

Because he was envisaging them in 3 years time as being an integral part of his squad.

Remember what he said before his first season?

"It will take 3 or 4 seasons getting the players I want, playing the way I want them to".

It's an absolute shame that the management did not back him.

lol at the irony!!! 😂

You’re clueless if you think Postenoclue wouldn’t have had us flirting with relegation after the abysmal league record under him, especially after the sterling work he did at Forest!

You’ve continually championed Ange, Vicario and Romero! I don’t think there’s much more to say about who’s deranged!!

:dembelelol:

Davies is still there.
Maybe Ange didn't think that Dier suited his system.

Well I suppose Dragusin could be said to be Dier's replacement. So we had 2 competent CBs for each of the CB positions, but Davies and Dragusin ain't no good in his system either, sometimes a manager needs to change to get the best out of the available players.

If you car starts to overheat do you slow down or do you keep going at the same speed regardless, and when you blow a gasket you simply say '' I drive fast mate, that's what I do''?

Ask Pep and Klopp what they both did when they had inadequate players for their system, hint they didn't cater or change the entire team for them.

Well I reckon most people on this forum thought Thomas Frank was a disaster, regardless of their opinion of Postecoglou.

The problem isn't that Postecoglou was sacked, the problem was who he was replaced with, and you've sort of admitted that yourself by keeping off this thread until it was blatantly obvious that Frank was useless for our team.

As for RDZs thread, I haven't formed an opinion yet, thought the Sunderland match was Thomas Fran- esque, I thought the save Kinksy made against Leeds was as good as some of those astonishing saves Vicario had to keep making to insure our forward play in those magical first ten matches wasn't negated.

It still seems like when we concede a goal, the team goes into some kind of sports shock, but it's early days so.

Relegation - we're 2 points better off than West Ham, but the two teams we have left to play are higher up the ;league table than the teams they have left to play, hopefully Chelsea will be fatigued from their cup match when we come to play them, overall I consider the situation between West Ham and our own team to be 50-50.
