Aberdeen won the thing in 1985, every season since it's been either Celtic or Rangers. So I'm behind Hearts for this match. The 41 year duopoly has to end.
Well, at least… um, maybe not.
Didn't a similar thing happen last week in Prague? That one was suspended, although it was the losing team's fans at fault. Is anyone watching this? Here is what I believe I just saw happen:
If that is what happened, what sort of message does that send to fans? That they can basically end any match in injury time if they want to by invading the pitch? Absolutely disgusting. Ref should abandon the game and have it played again next week, that would teach them a lesson.
- With the score at 1-1, Celtic score in the 88th minute to go top
- In the 97th minute, the Hearts keeper is up for a corner, Celtic break and score in the open goal to make it 3-1
- Celtic fans invade the pitch, players on both sides are waiting for them to be cleared so they can kick off after the goal
- After a couple of mins, ref appears to go 'well fuck it, there's so many fans on the pitch that I might as well just call it full time'
I think Martin O'Neil is a bit of a prick, and not a great technical coach, but he has some indefinable quality. Taking a shit Celtic team, and making them 15 points better than any other team in the league, to win the championship on the last day of the season is crazy stuff.
I feel a little sorry for Hearts.
So it sounds like they've got it wrong on both occasions - if the losing team's fans come on the pitch, end the match so they have no chance to come back. If the winning team's fans do it, have the whole match replayed from 0-0. Honestly, it sickened me watching that (and I don't normally follow Scottish football, so it's not sour grapes or anything like that - it's just the thought that fans can totally control when the match is finished - disgusting).Didn't a similar thing happen last week in Prague? Mm….I well think the fact a crap Celtic team can win the Scottish league says more about the rest of the teams than them! Hearts were done by two scandalous decisions one last Saturday one on Wednesday there’s no getting away from the fact……..sadly Aberdeen, Hibs especially for obvious reasons, Motherwell, Dundee Utd will take great delight in Hearts falling short which is part of supporting a team but the bigger picture Scottish football will stay stagnant it won’t change if there’s not a change in winning teams! Teams I’ve mentioned if it were them the decisions would have been made against them too……no wonder nobody takes Scottish football seriously
I don’t think O’Neill is a great manager. But I think he’s a great manager at that club. He just seems to connect to Celtic and their fan base in a way many can’t. I don’t know why, he’s not even Scottish but he just gets them going like nobody else.I think Martin O'Neil is a bit of a prick, and not a great technical coach, but he has some indefinable quality. Well Celtic fans all think they're Irish anyway. Hence them being pro IRA.I don’t think O’Neill is a great manager. But I think he’s a great manager at that club. Yes, he's also Catholic.
No.Didn't a similar thing happen last week in Prague? That one was suspended, although it was the losing team's fans at fault.
