Vic is a better keeper- whether he is fit enough is a different question.
Kinsky could have done better with both goals tonight - and for Villa's goal.
He is done well to recover from Madrid - but he is insanely overrated by some fans and has been since his very first game.
He has a terrible error per game record .
I think RDZ will go for Vic for Everton

Slow motion makes everything look worse.
And that scouse twat chatting shite like he knows about goalkeeping swayed a few people.
I love when Peter Schmeichel always puts Carragher (and the rest) in his place when they do goalkeeping punditry.

He's always saying "Jamie, you have zero idea what you are looking at".

This has been backed up by the other prominent goalkeeping pundits like Hart, Hislop, Friedel and Foster.

They've all mentioned for years how goalkeeping is misunderstood by all and sundry.

Always resort to the same nonsensical soundbites too.

Keeper doesn't claim a corner in 6 yard box with 8 different duels happening around him...

"Keeper must be stronger"

Keeper doesn't save a shot from 20+ yards out...

"Keeper must do better"

Keeper comes "too far" off his line...

"What's he doing out there?!"

Keeper stays on his line...

"He doesn't command his box"

People, by and large, simply don't understand goalkeeping.

One of the worst examples I've seen was the criticism for the Schalke goalkeeper's diving header clearance outside the box, which Dejan Stankovic then famously volleyed back over his head from the half way line in the Champions League.

Completely ignoring the fact if he hadn't made said diving header, the Inter Milan striker, Diego Milito, was clean through.

Please be specific.

What is his exact number of errors per game please?

And where does that put him compared to the rest of the League's goalkeepers?

Last season errors that led to goals averaged more than one a game.
This season against Newcastle in the LC.
Against Villa. And arguably tonight. And of course Madrid

He has also made some decent saves this season. But the evidence so far is that overall he is not a good keeper.

Just to correct you, he has made zero errors in the Prem that have lead to goals.

In fact, he has made zero errors that have lead to chances.

Charlie was probably cheering the Chelsea goal knowing Kinsky could've done better.

Not at all.
I am however pleased that Vicario is fit.
It's a very tough decision for RDZ.
Because Vicario has been poor this year.
Maybe because he was injured and maybe he is not fully fit.

Kinsky was correctly chosen tonight.
More difficult for Everton.
Horrible choice for the manager.
Getting it wrong would be a nightmare.

Check the Villa game.
And a lot of people think he should have saved the first goal. There are levels.
Glaring errors or should have done better.

He also hasn't played many matches or faced many shorts.
So technically you are correct - he hasn't cost us many points in the PL

It's j ust the two cups.

The fact is , he is young keeper who has not played that much- so the sample size is small.

I'd still stick with Kinsky tbh. His ability on the ball alleviates pressure and means we concede less shots anyway. Switching keepers for the final game sends out the wrong message and we've had a settled back line over the past 6 games now so better to stick with that imo. I'd be more worried about Vic being rusty and having a shocker than Kinsky.

He should've done better for their goal - something about his positioning just looked off for that one - maybe as another poster said he shouldn't have been rooted to his line? But it's also exactly the type of goal Vic has been conceding all season anyway.

I think RDZ will go for Vicario.
Managers normally pick the number ones when they return.
The good vibes from Kinsky have diminished.
He wasn't great tonight and we lost.
Balance of probabilities.
Who is more likely to blunder a goal.
Who is more likely to make a string of saves

Unlikely Everton game will be swayed by keeper choice - more likely no-one closing down a shot from the box, or 3 woeful forwards wasting every chance, or someone on RW making a pass so poor that players thought it must have been for someone else.

Vic hasn’t been saving shots from distance all season, same as Kinsky last night; Kinsky seems safer on corners (or Danso is better) and the back line trust him.

Not bothered either way,but may as well stick with Kinsky as he’ll still be here - not like some super-keeper is coming back from injury.

Personally I doubt it. If what you're saying is true why didn't he pick Vicario tonight?

The shot Kinsky faced from Enzo was incredibly difficult to defend against- Enzo went right and then pulled it back across goal with a brilliant dipping strike. Kinsky was correct to cheat right as Enzo's body position made it look like he was going to curl it to the right. I didn't see any real problem with Kinsky's reaction myself.

Not just that, but it swerved right and then came back central before zipping left.

As ever his season, these things will happen when we leave talented players clear to shoot from outside the box.

However, the most important part - people seeing it as a reason for Vicario to come back?

He's my pick for Sunday 100%.

I don't mind Vic. I think he has just struggled to adjust to the new set piece manhandling trend and is woeful with his feet. I also don't think he's the right type of leader we've needed.

But we all know his time here is at an end. And we all know the ground will be less confident on Sunday with him in goals. We need the crowd positive. Vic will suck all the atmosphere out of the ground the first time he tries something with his feet.

RDZ should, and I think will, pick Kinsky.

I think also shouting and berated the defence for his fuckups won't really be conducive to a steady back four tbh.

Why anyone would want Vicario back in for Everton is beyond me. Firstly,he’s rotten, secondly,he deflects every mistake he makes and thirdly, our defence seems much calmer without him.
I’m always on edge with him but since Kinsky has came in I’m not.
