"It means Tottenham are heading for a difficult summer to stay in line with Premier League financial rules."

Would you fuck off ya pricks

It wouldn't surprise me if the Lewis kids and the likes of Venkatesham have clocked onto the fact that we've been grown into quick a successful business, and instead of elevating the club to the next level, will have realised theres:
- a club with a lot of revenue potential
- a fanbase itching to blame any future issues on DL

So, like the government seen to regularly do, will claim poverty whilst bleeding financial resources out, whilst magically becoming richer at the same time. Venkatesham has already thrown (or attempted to) Levy under the bus by claiming or hinting that he was too spendy.

We've just had a long run in the CL to the R16, which in itself raised £10m. We must be at 30-50m for that alone.

Fuck ENIC for sure

But

I find it really hard to know how much to blame them when the injuries have been this absurd and the officials have been so obvious in their treatment of the club,

If we were mid table or even just top 8, after regular treatment from refs and no massive injury crisis, I’d have waaaay more clarity in my rage against them.

But unfortunately, I can’t look past the obvious mitigating factors for this season. I want them gone, and replaced with ambitious owners that really want to win but this season specifically, they’ve been given a pass by the football gods somehow. I know I’ll probably get a load of shit for that take but whatever
They had a chance to alleviate the injury crisis in January. They didn't take it.
They laughed at us.
Our injury list is absolutely no valid reason for making excuses for the cunts whatsoever

They’re preparing their excuses early for the summer TW
Like Levy's pre window statement telling the fans 'we cannot spend what we do not have'
While Arteta was telling their fanbase to look forward to a 'really exciting transfer window which will be massive'

Two clubs with almost identical revenue, similar size fan bases that should be competing on a level playing field as equals.

It's absolutely disgusting. Football criminals every single one of them

Could get a whole lot worse by Sunday around 6pm

Lange made that call. He was probably expecting Kudus to come back from injury.

They haven’t sacked Lange for that yet. I’m definitely holding that against them.

But like I said, until I know who to blame for the absurdity of our injury crisis, I don’t know how to blame Enic for it. If Kudus had come back from injury, we wouldn’t have been watching RKM disaster shows.

I think it's just a product of the institutional rot that ENIC have allowed to spread throughout the club.

The problem with the medical staff is that the prognosis over the last 2 years seems to be constantly wrong. Maddison last Summer, Kulusevski was clearly expected to be back at the end of last year, Kudus was expected to be back. That's not bad luck anymore, that's a bad medical department. As for the amount of injuries themselves, again, poor medical staff and probably poor conditioning and just training standards in general. The constant bad prognosis' has left us short now in both transfer windows.

We've clearly been a really poorly run club over the last 8 or so years, definitely in recruitment, but also in academy, medical, conditioning, coaching etc. I think ENIC as owners had a responsibility to not allow that to happen.

Two completely different medical teams in that time, though

All pros at the top end of their field, earning top end money. Are they all charlatans? What are the chances of that?

The template was set when Levy had the windfall of £178mil from reaching the Champions League final . Instead of investing it in the squad , it magically disappeared out of sight . The club is run by crooks who do not have the clubs best interest at heart . Until we are sold to owners with ambition we will always be an average club . This last season has told us all we needed to know about the current owners at the wheel . Instead of buying players in January because we had 12 players on the physios table , they chose to go in front of the cameras and say we're not going to panic buy and we're going to stay the course . Now we're in a relegation dogfight and could go down . I don't think I've ever seen us in this much of a mess in my 60yrs of supporting the club . We're worse even since we got relegated last time .

Do you think those contracts were free? Ndombele's contract was at least the same as his transfer fee.
We still didn't spend all of the windfall on players or their wages . It's amazing that with all the money we have coming in we find ourselves at the foot of the table 2 years on the spin . Do you seriously believe that the club has been run correctly , when the scum have the same or less money coming in and we're at polar opposite ends of the table . They're crooks no matter which way you look at the situation . I'm sick of seeing the club I love stripped bare because they don't have any ambition .

The point is that you didn't see where the money went. The accounts are transparent around that and there's clear data available. Our wages went up ~20% from that summer, there would have been bonuses from the CL run, £140m or so invested in those three players on transfers, plus contracts - then add in the payoffs to Poch, mourinho wages etc. THEN about 6 months later we had lockdown and lost a huge source of revenue for a prolonged period.

"it magically disappeared out of sight" is somewhere between naive and disingenuous.

Every club went through the Lockdown and the club Furloughed its staff . The games were played behind closed doors so the sky money continued to come in . It's an Unexpected windfall first and foremost . Most clubs afford to pay their squad with the "sky money" . Those are not my words , those are the words of Paul O Keefe who is quite up on the current situations . The gate fee's and the merchandise money are usually on top of that , then you have the money coming in from the concerts and NFL games and events . Where do you suppose all that money goes/has gone . I know we're a PLC but I would suggest that not every penny made is invested back into the club - . Levy said the new stadium would be a "game changer" and here we are in a relegation dogfight 7 years after the stadium opened . It's naïve to think that every penny coming into the club gets ploughed back into the club "As Was Promised" . The owners are asleep at the wheel and are creaming the profits on a grand scale . Its a joke , its a clusterfuck of a situation and we the supporters are the one getting shafted for supporting our pride and joy . You will obviously think that I'm wrong because we're a PLC club . But I would wager I'm nearer the truth than you are .

We'd just opened the new stadium and had costs associated with that. We'd just sacked a manager and his team on a longer term contract. We'd just hired one of the most successful managers in the modern game, plus his team. Plus committed to £300m+ worth of signings and contracts.

I'm baffled as to what you're not getting here. Liverpool WON that final and spent £10m and sold £45m worth.

I thought I said it in the first statement , we had £178mil windfall and I can't see where it went . I didn't see £300 mil of signings - not over and above what we should've spent
